Setup
1. Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the cash register from its packaging. Place the unit on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the device.
2. Power Connection
Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the cash register. Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
3. Battery Installation (for Memory Backup)
The Royal 210DX requires 2 AA batteries for memory backup. These batteries help retain programmed data (like PLUs and departments) in case of a power outage.
- Locate the battery compartment, typically on the underside or rear of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.

4. Thermal Paper Installation
The 210DX uses 2 1/4" thermal paper rolls for printing receipts.

- Pull a small amount of paper out past the cutting edge.
- Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place.

5. Cash Drawer Setup
The compact cash drawer features a 4-slot bill tray and a 5-slot coin tray.
- Ensure the cash drawer is securely connected to the main unit.

Operating Instructions
Mode Switch
The mode switch, located on the top panel, controls the operational state of the cash register.
- OFF: Powers off the unit.

- Z (Reset): Used for resetting daily sales reports and clearing data.

Basic Sales Transaction (REG Mode)
- Ensure the mode switch is set to REG.
- Enter the price of the item using the numeric keypad.
- Press the corresponding Department key (e.g., Dept. 1-24).
- Repeat for additional items.
- Press the Amt Tend/TOTAL key to finalize the sale.
- Enter the amount received from the customer, then press Amt Tend/TOTAL again to calculate change and open the cash drawer.
PLU (Price Look-Up) Sales

- In REG mode, enter the quantity if more than one (e.g., 2).

Programming (PRG Mode)
