2. Safety Information

  • Always turn off the main water supply before beginning any plumbing installation or repair.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves.
  • Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks, but do not overtighten, which can damage threads or fittings.
  • Inspect the supply line regularly for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks.
  • If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified plumber.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:

  • One (1) Fluidmaster Stainless Steel Dishwasher Supply Line (60 inches long, 3/8" Compression x 3/8" Compression)
  • One (1) 3/8" Compression x 3/8" Male Iron Pipe (MIP) Brass Elbow Fitting

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your dishwasher supply line:

  1. Turn Off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your home or the specific shut-off valve for the dishwasher and turn it off completely.
  2. Disconnect Old Supply Line (if applicable): If replacing an existing line, use a wrench to carefully disconnect the old supply line from both the dishwasher inlet valve and the water supply valve. Have a towel ready to catch any residual water.
  3. Prepare Dishwasher Connection: Apply thread sealant tape (Teflon tape) to the threads of the dishwasher's water inlet connection. If using the included 3/8" MIP brass elbow, attach it to the dishwasher inlet first, ensuring a snug fit.
  4. Connect to Dishwasher: Attach one end of the Fluidmaster Stainless Steel Dishwasher Supply Line to the dishwasher's water inlet connection (or the brass elbow, if used). Hand-tighten, then use a wrench to tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten.
  5. Connect to Water Supply: Attach the other end of the supply line to the water supply shut-off valve. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench to tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten.
  6. Check for Leaks: Slowly turn the main water supply back on. Carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. If leaks are detected, turn off the water supply, tighten the connection slightly, and recheck.
  7. Secure Line: Ensure the supply line is not kinked or pinched. Secure it if necessary to prevent accidental damage.

5. Operating Instructions

The Fluidmaster Stainless Steel Dishwasher Supply Line is a passive component designed to deliver water from your home's water supply to your dishwasher. Once properly installed and the water supply is turned on, the supply line will automatically provide water to the dishwasher as needed during its wash cycles. No further operational steps are required for the supply line itself.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and reliable performance of your Fluidmaster Dishwasher Supply Line, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the entire length of the supply line and its connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, kinks, or leaks. This is especially important if the dishwasher is moved for cleaning or service.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the area around the supply line clean and free from debris that could potentially damage the hose.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemical cleaners near the supply line, as they could potentially degrade the material over time.
  • Temperature Extremes: Ensure the supply line is not exposed to extreme temperatures, which can affect its material integrity.
