Setup

Battery Installation

The Smart Weigh SWS100 scale requires 2 AAA batteries for operation. These batteries are included with your purchase.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Initial Placement

For accurate readings, place the scale on a flat, stable, and level surface. Avoid placing it near sources of vibration, extreme temperature changes, or electromagnetic interference.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

  1. Turn On: Press the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on.
  2. Zero Display: Wait for the display to show "0.00" or "0.000" before weighing.
  3. Weighing: Place the object(s) to be weighed on the center of the weighing platform.
  4. Unit Conversion: Using the MODE key, you can switch between weighing units (g, oz, gn, ct, ozt, dwt).
  5. Turn Off: Press the ON/OFF key again to turn the scale off, or it will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Tare Weighing

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container to obtain the net weight of its contents.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press the TARE key. The display will reset to "0.00" or "0.000".
  3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show the net weight of the items.

Calibration Adjustment

Calibration and adjustment are performed at the factory. However, the weighing range can shift slightly during shipping or due to changes in local acceleration of gravity. Adjustment is recommended when moving the scale from one location to another or if you suspect inaccuracies.

  1. Press the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on.
  2. Press and hold the MODE key until the display shows "CAL", then release.
  3. Press the MODE key again. The display will flash "CAL" and then the required calibration weight (e.g., "100.00g").
  4. Place the required calibration weight (e.g., a 100g calibration weight, not included) on the center of the platform.
  5. The display will show "PASS" then return to normal weighing mode. Calibration is complete.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your scale, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Ensure the scale is dry before storage or next use.

Storage

When not in use, store the scale in a cool, dry place. The SWS100 features a protective cover that flips over the platform, ensuring safe and easy storage and protecting the weighing surface from dust and damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Display shows "LO": This indicates low battery power. Replace the AAA batteries.
  • Display shows "OUE2": This indicates an overload. Remove the item from the platform immediately to prevent damage. The maximum capacity for this model is 100g.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface. Recalibrate the scale as per the "Calibration Adjustment" section. Avoid weighing in areas with strong air currents or vibrations.
  • Scale does not turn on: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge.
