Battery Care Information

DualShock 4 controllers use lithium batteries. Unlike older battery types, lithium batteries do not develop a 'memory' and do not need to be fully drained before recharging. It is safe to recharge them after every gaming session and leave them plugged in, as the controller's built-in voltage regulator will stop charging once the battery is full. Avoid fully draining the battery, as this can be detrimental to its lifespan. Charging after each use or when a low battery warning appears is recommended.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the charging station. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the charging station and controllers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • Controller Not Charging:
    • Ensure the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the wall outlet and the charging station.
    • Verify that the controller is properly seated and clicked into the charging port. The orange light bar should illuminate.
    • Try a different wall outlet to rule out power supply issues.
  • Charging Light Turns Off Quickly: This typically indicates the controller is already fully charged. The station is designed to stop charging once the battery reaches full capacity.
  • Controller is Too Sensitive / Disconnects Easily: Ensure the controller is firmly seated and clicked into the charging port. Avoid placing the station in high-traffic areas where it might be bumped.
