Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your floor lamp. It is recommended to have a second person assist during assembly for stability.

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a clean, flat, and soft surface to prevent scratches.
2. Attach Base: Securely attach the main lamp pole to the base plate using the provided screws. Ensure the connection is firm to prevent wobbling.
3. Assemble Pole Sections: If the lamp pole comes in multiple sections, carefully twist or connect them together, ensuring wires are not pinched.
4. Install Reading Lamp: Attach the adjustable reading lamp assembly to the main pole at the designated point. Ensure it is securely fastened.
5. Install Glass Shade: Carefully place the glass shade onto the top fixture. Secure it with the retaining ring (if applicable). Note: Some models may have the retaining ring pre-screwed onto the socket assembly; unscrew it first, place the shade, then reattach.
6. Insert Bulbs: Insert the appropriate bulbs into the main torchiere socket (E26 base, max 60W) and the reading lamp socket (Halogen, max 50W).
7. Position Lamp: Place the assembled lamp in its desired location, ensuring the power cord can reach an outlet without being strained or creating a tripping hazard.

Operating Instructions

Your George Kovacs P256-084 Floor Lamp features independent controls for the main torchiere light and the reading lamp.

• Main Torchiere Light: The main light is controlled by a rotary switch, which also functions as a dimmer. Rotate the switch clockwise to turn on and increase brightness, and counter-clockwise to dim and turn off.
• Reading Lamp: The reading lamp is controlled by a separate push-button switch. Press the button to turn the reading lamp on or off.
• Adjusting Reading Lamp: The reading lamp features a flexible gooseneck design, allowing you to adjust its position and direct light as needed for reading or task lighting.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Dust the lamp regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For more thorough cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry immediately. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Bulb Replacement:
  • Ensure the lamp is unplugged and bulbs have cooled before attempting replacement.
  • For the main torchiere light, use an E26 base bulb, maximum 60 Watts.
  • For the reading lamp, use a Halogen bulb, maximum 50 Watts.
• Stability Check: Periodically check the tightness of all screws and connections, especially at the base and pole sections, to ensure the lamp remains stable.
