Setup Guide

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove the NotePal U3 PLUS cooling pad and its three 80mm cooling fans from the packaging.
2. Position Fans: Identify the perforated surface on the underside of the cooling pad. Align the clips on each fan with the desired holes on the surface. Press firmly until each fan clicks securely into place. You can adjust their positions later to match your laptop's heat zones.
3. Connect Power: Locate the USB power cable attached to the fans. Plug the USB connector into an available USB 2.0 port on your laptop. The fans should begin to operate.
4. Place Laptop: Carefully place your laptop on top of the cooling pad, ensuring it is centered and stable.

Operating Instructions

• Fan Speed Control: The NotePal U3 PLUS features an integrated fan speed controller located on the USB power cable. Rotate the small wheel on this controller to adjust the fan speed. Turn it clockwise to increase speed for maximum cooling, and counter-clockwise to decrease speed for quieter operation.
• Optimal Fan Placement: For best cooling results, identify the primary heat sources on the underside of your laptop (typically the CPU and GPU areas). Adjust the position of the movable fans to be directly beneath these hot spots to ensure efficient heat dissipation.

Maintenance

• Regular Cleaning: To maintain optimal performance and airflow, regularly clean the aluminum surface and fan blades. Dust and debris can accumulate and reduce cooling efficiency.
• Cleaning Procedure: Disconnect the cooling pad from your laptop. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the aluminum surface. For the fan blades, you may use a can of compressed air to dislodge dust. If necessary, a slightly damp cloth can be used on the surface, but ensure the device is completely dry before reconnecting it.
• Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemical solutions, as these can damage the finish or components of the cooling pad.

Troubleshooting

• Fans Not Spinning:
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the cooling pad and a functioning USB port on your laptop.
  • Check the fan speed controller on the USB cable to ensure it is not set to the minimum (off) position.
  • Try connecting the cooling pad to a different USB port on your laptop to rule out a faulty port.
• Insufficient Cooling:
  • Verify that the movable fans are positioned directly beneath your laptop's primary heat sources (e.g., CPU, GPU).
  • Ensure that the cooling pad's perforated surface and your laptop's vents are not obstructed by objects or dust buildup. Clean as per the Maintenance section.
