2. Compatibility

This T-Power 12V Car Power Adapter is specifically designed for use with 12V DC car/auto power outlets and is compatible with the following Uniden and RELM models. It is crucial to verify your device's model number before use to ensure compatibility. This adapter is NOT compatible with 15V DC devices.

3. Setup and Connection

  1. Verify Compatibility: Before connecting, ensure your device is listed in the compatibility section and requires a 12V DC input.
  2. Connect to Device: Insert the barrel connector end of the T-Power adapter into the power input port of your Uniden radio scanner or marine radio.
  3. Connect to Vehicle: Insert the car cigarette lighter plug end of the T-Power adapter firmly into your vehicle's 12V DC power outlet.
  4. Power Indicator: A red power indicator light on the car plug will illuminate when the adapter is receiving power from the vehicle.

4. Operation

Once connected, the T-Power 12V Car Power Adapter provides a stable 12V DC 2A output to your compatible device. The adapter is designed for continuous use while your vehicle's power outlet is active. No additional controls are present on the adapter itself; operation is automatic upon connection to a powered 12V DC source.

  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is on or the 12V DC outlet is active for power delivery.
  • Monitor your device's charging indicator to confirm it is receiving power.
  • Disconnect the adapter from the vehicle's power outlet when not in use to prevent battery drain, especially if the outlet remains active when the ignition is off.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your T-Power adapter.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the adapter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the adapter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture when not in use.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the cable. Do not pull the cable to disconnect the adapter; always grasp the plug.
  • Fuse Replacement: If the adapter stops working and the red indicator light does not illuminate, the internal fuse may need replacement.
    1. Unscrew the tip of the car cigarette lighter plug.
    2. Carefully remove the old fuse.
    3. Replace with a new F5AL250V fuse (5 Amp, 250 Volt).
    4. Screw the tip back on securely.
