Proper installation is crucial for the fan's performance and safety. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram provided with the product packaging for specific connections.
IMPORTANT: The fan requires a permanent live, a switched live, and a neutral connection (3 wires excluding earth) at the fan position for the timer functionality to operate correctly. Without a switched live, the fan will operate solely in humidity sensor mode.
The fan must be permanently connected to an unswitched supply in all installation scenarios.
The Va100xht fan can be installed on either a wall or a ceiling. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and secure. The fan is designed for use with 100mm (4-inch) diameter ducting.
Connect appropriate 100mm diameter ducting to the fan's spigot. Ensure ducting runs are as short and straight as possible to maximize airflow efficiency. Seal all ducting connections to prevent air leakage.
The integrated humidity sensor continuously monitors the ambient humidity. When the humidity level in the room exceeds a pre-set threshold, the fan will automatically activate. It will continue to run until the humidity drops below the threshold, after which it will operate for the duration of the pre-set run-on timer.
If wired with a switched live connection, the fan can also be activated in conjunction with the room's light switch. When the light is switched on, the fan will start. When the light is switched off, the fan will continue to run for the duration of the pre-set run-on timer.
The run-on timer is adjustable from 3 to 35 minutes. To adjust the timer, carefully remove the front grille (refer to installation instructions for access) and locate the timer adjustment screw. Use a small screwdriver to turn the screw to increase or decrease the run-on time. Test the setting before re-securing the grille.
Regular cleaning will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Vent-Axia fan.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not operate. | No power supply. Incorrect wiring. Humidity level not met (if in humidity mode only). | Check circuit breaker/fuse. Verify wiring connections (consult electrician). Increase humidity or test with light switch (if wired). |
| Fan runs continuously. | Humidity sensor set too low or faulty. Timer set too long or faulty. Switched live permanently on. | Adjust humidity sensor setting. Adjust timer setting. Check light switch wiring (consult electrician). |
| Reduced airflow/noisy operation. | Blocked grille or impeller. Ducting obstruction. Loose mounting. | Clean grille and impeller. Check ducting for blockages. Secure mounting screws. |
| Humidity sensor not responding. | Sensor faulty. Incorrect wiring (no permanent live). | Contact Vent-Axia support. Verify wiring (consult electrician). |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact a qualified electrician or Vent-Axia customer support.
