4. Setup
4.1 Pre-Charging Checks
- Ensure the battery is a 12V lead-acid, AGM, or Gel type and within the 25-120 Ah capacity range.
- Clean the battery terminals of any corrosion.
- For flooded (wet) batteries, check the electrolyte level and top up with distilled water if necessary (do not overfill).
- Ensure the charging area is well-ventilated.
4.2 Connecting the Charger to the Battery
- Ensure the charger is unplugged from the AC power outlet.
- Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. If charging a battery installed in a vehicle, connect the black clamp to the vehicle chassis away from the battery and fuel line.
- Ensure connections are secure.
4.3 Connecting to AC Power
- Once the battery clamps are securely connected, plug the charger's AC power cord into a standard 230V AC wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Automatic Charging Process
The Absaar 12V 11A charger is fully automatic. Once connected to the battery and AC power, it will detect the battery's condition and initiate the appropriate charging cycle. It will automatically switch to maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged.
5.2 LED Indicators

Figure 2: Detailed view of the Absaar 12V 11A Automatic Battery Charger's front panel. This image highlights the 12V input, 11 AMP Auto rating, and the LED indicators for charge status (e.g., 20%, 80%, 100% charged, and error/warning).
| Indicator | Description |
|---|---|
| Battery Icon with 20% (Red/Orange) | Indicates the battery is low on charge (approximately 20% or less). Charging is in progress. |
| Battery Icon with 80% (Yellow/Green) | Indicates the battery is partially charged (approximately 80%). Charging is in progress. |
| Battery Icon with 100% (Green) | Indicates the battery is fully charged. The charger has switched to maintenance mode. |
| Exclamation Mark / Warning Icon (Red) | Indicates an error or fault condition (e.g., reverse polarity, faulty battery, short circuit). Refer to the Troubleshooting section. |
5.3 Disconnecting the Charger
- Unplug the charger from the AC power outlet first.
- Disconnect the BLACK negative (-) clamp from the battery terminal or vehicle chassis.
- Disconnect the RED positive (+) clamp from the battery terminal.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from all power sources before cleaning. Wipe the casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Keep cables neatly coiled to prevent damage.
- Battery Care: Regularly check battery terminals for corrosion and clean as needed. For flooded batteries, periodically check electrolyte levels.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not turning on / No indicators light up. | No AC power; Faulty AC outlet; Blown fuse in charger. | Check AC power connection and outlet. Check the fuse on the charger (refer to Figure 2 for fuse location). Replace if necessary with the correct type and rating. |
| Exclamation Mark / Warning Icon is lit. | Reverse polarity connection; Short circuit; Faulty battery; Battery voltage too low. | Disconnect charger from AC power. Check battery clamp connections for correct polarity. Inspect battery and cables for damage. If battery voltage is extremely low (below 8V), the charger may not initiate charging. |
| Battery not charging or charging slowly. | Poor connection; Battery sulfation; Battery capacity too large for charger; Extremely cold battery. | Ensure all connections are clean and secure. A heavily sulfated battery may not accept a charge. Ensure battery capacity is within 25-120 Ah. Charge in a warmer environment if the battery is very cold. |
