2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the UPS and inspect it for any shipping damage. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.
2.2 Configuration (Rack-Mount or Tower)
The UPS can be installed in a standard 19-inch equipment rack or as a standalone tower unit. Follow the instructions provided with the rack-mount kit (if applicable) for secure installation. For tower configuration, attach the included feet to the base of the unit.

2.3 Battery Connection
Connect the internal battery pack according to the instructions in the quick start guide. For models supporting external battery packs, connect them as directed to achieve desired runtime.
2.4 Connecting Equipment
Connect your critical equipment to the output receptacles on the rear panel of the UPS. Ensure that the total load does not exceed the UPS's capacity (3000 VA / 2700 W). The UPS features 8 x IEC 60320 C13 and 3 x IEC 60320 C19 outlets, plus 2 x IEC Jumper connections.

2.5 Initial Power-Up
Plug the UPS into a grounded electrical outlet (200-240V). Press the power button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The LCD display will illuminate and show system status.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 LCD Display and Navigation
The front panel LCD provides real-time information on UPS status, load, battery capacity, and runtime. Use the navigation buttons (Mode, Esc, Up, Down, Enter) to scroll through menus and configure settings. The LCD display can be rotated for optimal viewing in different orientations.
3.2 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the power button until the display illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the display indicates shutdown.
3.3 Battery Backup Operation
In the event of a power outage, the UPS will automatically switch to battery power, providing continuous power to connected equipment. The LCD will display remaining runtime and battery capacity. An audible alarm will sound to indicate battery operation.
3.4 Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
The AVR feature automatically corrects sustained high or low voltage conditions without using battery power. This protects connected equipment from voltage fluctuations and extends battery life.
3.5 Eco Mode
Enable Eco Mode through the LCD menu to optimize energy efficiency. In this mode, the UPS operates with higher efficiency by bypassing the inverter when utility power is stable, reducing power consumption and heat generation.
3.6 Remote Monitoring and Management
For advanced monitoring and management, an optional SNMP card can be installed. This allows for remote access to UPS status, event notifications, and controlled shutdowns/reboots of connected equipment via a network connection. The PowerPanel Software and Cloud solutions offer comprehensive management capabilities.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
The UPS features a tool-less front panel for easy access to the hot-swappable battery module. Refer to the detailed battery replacement instructions in the full product manual for safe and proper procedure. Always use genuine APC replacement batteries.
4.2 Battery Equalization
The UPS incorporates battery equalization technology to optimize battery performance and extend battery life by ensuring all battery cells are charged evenly.
4.3 Cleaning and Inspection
Periodically inspect the UPS for dust accumulation on vents and clean with a dry cloth. Ensure all cables are securely connected. Do not block ventilation openings.
5. Troubleshooting
If the UPS is not operating as expected, consult the following general troubleshooting steps. For detailed error codes and solutions, refer to the comprehensive product manual.
- No Power/No Display: Ensure the UPS is properly plugged into a live wall outlet and the power button has been pressed correctly. Check the input circuit breaker.
- Constant Alarm: This typically indicates the UPS is operating on battery power due to a utility power problem. Check the utility power source.
- Overload Indication: The UPS is overloaded. Disconnect non-essential equipment until the load is within the UPS's capacity.
- Battery Fault/Warning: The battery may need replacement or re-connection. Perform a battery self-test or replace the battery module.
- Physical Reset: A physical reset button is available on the rear panel for certain fault conditions. Consult the full manual before using.
