This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Telefunken TB201 PEPS Candy-Bar cordless telephone. Please read this manual carefully before using the device to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
Figure 1: The Telefunken TB201 PEPS Candy-Bar cordless telephone, showing the handset resting in its black charging base. The handset features a monochrome display showing "HELLO" and a full battery indicator, along with a standard numeric keypad and function buttons for call, menu, and navigation.
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:
Place the handset onto the charging base. The display on the handset should indicate that it is charging. For optimal battery life, allow the handset to charge for at least 12-16 hours before its first use, even if the display shows a full charge sooner.
When the phone rings, lift the handset from the charging base or press the Call button (typically green or with a phone receiver icon) to answer the incoming call.
Place the handset back on the charging base or press the End Call button (usually the red button or a button with a hang-up icon) to end the conversation.
The Telefunken TB201 features a hands-free speakerphone function. During a call, press the Speakerphone button (often indicated by a speaker icon) to activate or deactivate the speakerphone. This allows you to talk without holding the handset.
During a call, use the navigation buttons (up/down arrows) to adjust the earpiece or speakerphone volume.
Press the Menu button to access the phone's settings and features. Use the navigation arrows to scroll through options and the OK button to select.
The phone supports Caller ID. When an incoming call is received, the caller's number (and name, if available and stored in your phonebook) will be displayed on the screen before you answer.
To clean the handset and base unit, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these may damage the surfaces. Ensure the device is unplugged from the power outlet before cleaning.
Store the telephone in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, or moisture. Avoid placing the unit near heat sources or in areas with high humidity.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No dial tone | Power adapter not connected; Telephone line cord not connected; Batteries low or not installed correctly. | Ensure power adapter is securely plugged in. Check telephone line cord connection. Verify batteries are installed correctly and charged. |
| Cannot make/receive calls | Out of range; Line busy; Service issue. | Move closer to the base unit. Check if another phone on the same line is in use. Contact your telephone service provider if the issue persists. |
| Poor sound quality/static | Interference from other electronic devices; Handset too far from base; Low battery. | Move the base unit away from other electronic devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, microwaves). Ensure handset is within range. Charge the handset battery. |
| Display is blank | Batteries drained or not installed. | Place handset on the charging base. Check battery installation. |
