Key Components:
- Snooze Button: Large button located on the top of the clock.
- Alarm ON/OFF Switch: Slide switch on the right side of the clock.
- Time Setting Knob: Located on the back (often combined with alarm setting).
- Melody Group Selector: Button on the front, typically on the left.
- Melody Selector / Monitor Button: Button on the front, typically in the middle.
- Volume Control: Rotary knob on the front, typically on the right.
- Battery Compartment: Located on the back.
Setup
1. Install Batteries
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the clock (refer to Figure 3).
- Insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The clock comes with batteries included.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- Observe the second hand on the clock face; it should begin moving, indicating the clock is powered.
2. Set Current Time
- Locate the time setting knob on the back of the clock. This knob typically has two positions.
- Gently pull the knob outwards. This usually engages the time-setting mechanism.
- Rotate the knob to move the hour and minute hands to the current time.
- Once the time is set, push the knob back inwards to secure the setting.
Operating Instructions
1. Setting the Alarm Time
- Locate the alarm setting hand on the clock face. This is usually a smaller, distinct hand.
- The same knob used for setting the current time is often used for setting the alarm. Gently pull the knob outwards to its second position (if applicable) or rotate it while it's in the time-setting position to move the alarm hand.
- Rotate the knob until the alarm hand points to your desired wake-up time.
- Push the knob back inwards to secure the alarm setting.
- Note: As this is a 12-hour analog clock, the alarm will sound twice within a 24-hour period (e.g., if set for 7:00, it will sound at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM). Remember to activate/deactivate the alarm as needed.
2. Activating/Deactivating the Alarm
- Locate the Alarm ON/OFF slide switch on the right side of the clock (refer to Figure 2).
- To activate the alarm, slide the switch to the 'ON' (upper) position. The alarm will sound at the set time.
- To deactivate the alarm, slide the switch to the 'OFF' (lower) position. The alarm will not sound.
- Important: If you use the alarm daily, remember to slide the switch to 'ON' each evening to ensure it wakes you the next morning.
3. Using the Snooze Function
- When the alarm sounds, press the large Snooze button on the top of the clock.
- The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after a few minutes (typically 5-10 minutes).
- You can repeat this process multiple times.
- To completely turn off the alarm, slide the Alarm ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.
4. Selecting Melodies and Adjusting Volume
- Melody Group Selection: Use the button on the front left (often labeled with musical notes or moods) to switch between different groups of melodies.
- Individual Melody Selection / Monitor: Use the blue button in the middle of the front panel. Pressing this button will play the next melody within the selected group. The last melody played will be the one used for the alarm. You can also use this button to monitor the alarm sound.
- Volume Control: Rotate the knob on the front right (labeled 'Volume' or with 'Min/Max' indicators) to adjust the alarm sound level. To test the volume, first select a melody using the monitor button, then adjust the knob while the melody is playing.
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
- When the clock's second hand stops moving or the alarm sound becomes weak, it's time to replace the batteries.
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the clock.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly according to local regulations.
- Insert 3 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment.
- Reset the current time and alarm time after replacing batteries.
2. Cleaning
- Wipe the clock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish.
- Avoid getting moisture into the clock's internal components.
