1. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before using your OVENTE Electric Kettle. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.

• Do not immerse the kettle, power base, or cord in water or other liquids.
• Ensure the kettle is placed on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
• Do not operate the kettle if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the kettle malfunctions or has been damaged in any way.
• Keep the kettle and its cord out of reach of children.
• Do not fill the kettle above the maximum fill line (1.7L) to prevent boiling water from overflowing.
• Do not open the lid while water is boiling to avoid scalding from steam.
• The kettle features an Automatic Shut-Off function, which turns off the kettle once water has boiled.
• It also includes Boil-Dry Protection, which automatically shuts off the heating element if the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or if it boils dry.
• Always unplug the kettle from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

3. Setup

Initial Use and Preparation:

1. Unpack the kettle and all accessories. Inspect for any damage.
2. Before first use, fill the kettle to the MAX (1.7L) level with fresh water.
3. Bring the water to a full boil, then discard it.
4. Repeat this boiling and discarding process two more times (total of three cycles) to ensure the kettle is thoroughly cleaned and any manufacturing residues are removed.
5. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely and effectively use your electric kettle:

1. Place the power base on a dry, flat, and stable surface.
2. Open the lid by pressing the button on the handle.
3. Fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh water. Ensure the water level is between the MIN (0.6L) and MAX (1.7L) markings on the water level gauge.
4. Close the lid securely until it clicks into place.
5. Place the kettle firmly onto the power base.
6. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
7. Press the steam switch button down to turn on the kettle. The blue LED indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the kettle is heating.
8. The water will begin to boil. A full kettle (1.7L) typically boils in less than 7 minutes.
9. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, the kettle will automatically shut off, and the LED indicator light will turn off.
10. Carefully lift the kettle from its base and pour the hot water as needed.

5. Maintenance

Cleaning:

• Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• The kettle is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.
• The spout contains a removable/washable filter. To clean, gently remove the filter and rinse it under running water. Reinsert once clean.

Descaling:

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale:

1. Fill the kettle with water and add 1-2 tablespoons of cream of tartar.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy build-up.
3. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
4. For stubborn deposits, gently scrub the interior with a non-abrasive sponge.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your OVENTE Electric Kettle, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Kettle does not turn on:
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Verify the kettle is properly seated on its power base.
  • Check if the power switch is pressed down.
• Kettle boils but does not shut off automatically:
  • This can occur at higher altitudes due to fluctuations in boiling points. The kettle may not shut off on its own under these conditions. Monitor the boiling process manually.
• Water has an unusual taste:
  • Ensure you have completed the initial cleaning steps (boiling and discarding water three times).
  • Descale the kettle if mineral build-up is present.
• Rust-like spots inside the kettle:
  • These are typically mineral deposits, not rust. Follow the descaling instructions.
