4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your handheld showerhead and slide bar:

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Turn off the main water supply to your shower. Clear the area where the slide bar will be mounted.
  2. Mount the Slide Bar: The slide bar mounts directly to the shower wall. Use the provided mounting hardware. For hollow walls, 5/8-inch holes are required for toggle bolts. For studs, 5/16-inch holes are required. Ensure the bar is level before securing.
  3. Connect the Hose: Attach one end of the 69-inch hose to your existing shower arm connection. A Moen A725BN drop ell (not included) is required for a complete installation. Ensure all connections are hand-tightened, then use a wrench for a final quarter-turn, being careful not to overtighten.
  4. Attach the Handheld Showerhead: Connect the other end of the hose to the handheld showerhead.
  5. Test for Leaks: Turn the water supply back on and check all connections for leaks. Tighten if necessary.

6. Maintenance

To maintain the finish and performance of your Moen showerhead, follow these guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Clean the product with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or polishes as these can damage the brushed nickel finish.
  • Nozzle Care: Periodically wipe the rubber nozzles on the showerhead face to remove mineral buildup and ensure consistent spray performance.
  • Hose Care: Inspect the hose regularly for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
