This manual provides essential information for safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your boombox.

The Memorex MP3221 boombox features a top-loading CD player, AM/FM radio tuner, and an auxiliary input jack. It can be powered by AC current or batteries for portability.

Setup

Powering the Unit:

Your boombox can be powered by either AC power or batteries.

AC Power:

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off.
  2. Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC power input jack on the back of the boombox.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.

Battery Power:

For portable use, install 6 'C' size batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 6 'C' size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: When the AC power cord is connected, battery power is automatically disconnected. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Operating Instructions

CD Player Operation:

  1. Open the CD compartment door by gently lifting it.
  2. Place a CD (CD/CD-R/CD-RW) onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the CD compartment door.
  4. Set the Function Selector to 'CD'.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
  6. Use the STOP button to stop playback.
  7. Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons to navigate between tracks or fast forward/rewind within a track.
  8. Adjust the VOLUME knob to your desired listening level.

AM/FM Radio Operation:

  1. Set the Function Selector to 'AM' or 'FM'.
  2. Extend the FM telescopic antenna for better FM reception. For AM, rotate the unit for best reception.
  3. Rotate the TUNING knob to select your desired radio station.
  4. Adjust the VOLUME knob to your desired listening level.

Auxiliary Input Operation:

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the boombox.

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the headphone jack or line-out jack of your external audio device.
  2. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the AUX IN jack on the boombox.
  3. Set the Function Selector to 'AUX'.
  4. Start playback on your external audio device.
  5. Adjust the VOLUME knob on the boombox and the volume on your external device for optimal sound.
