1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your Pentax Q7 Mirrorless Digital Camera. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the camera and retain it for future reference. The Pentax Q7 is a compact, interchangeable lens digital camera featuring a 12.4MP 1/1.7-inch BSI CMOS sensor and the Pentax Q mount system.

2. Setup
2.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the camera is powered off.
- Open the battery cover located on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the D-LI68 Lithium-ion battery with the contacts facing inward, ensuring it clicks into place.
- Close the battery cover securely.
2.2. Memory Card Insertion
- Locate the memory card slot, typically adjacent to the battery compartment.
- Insert an SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks.
- Close the memory card slot cover.
2.3. Lens Attachment
- Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear cap from the lens.
- Align the red dot on the lens with the red dot on the camera body.
- Gently insert the lens into the camera body and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Powering On/Off
Press the power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
3.2. Basic Photography Modes
The mode dial allows selection of various shooting modes:
- Program Auto (P): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed automatically.
- Shutter Priority (Tv): You set shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
- Aperture Priority (Av): You set aperture, camera sets shutter speed.
- Manual (M): You set both aperture and shutter speed.
- Scene Modes: Pre-set modes for specific situations (e.g., Portrait, Landscape).
3.3. Adjusting Settings
Use the control dials and buttons on the camera body to adjust settings such as ISO sensitivity (100-12800), white balance, and exposure compensation. The 3-inch TFT LCD (460,000 dots) on the rear displays current settings and live view.

3.4. Using the Built-in Flash
The Pentax Q7 features a built-in flash. To activate, slide the flash release lever. The flash offers standard modes and can sync at speeds up to 1/2000 sec.

3.5. Video Recording
To record video, set the mode dial to the video icon. The camera supports Full HD (1920x1080) at 30fps, HD (1280x720) at 30fps, and VGA (640x480) at 30fps, using MPEG-4/H.264 format.

5.2. Battery Care

5.3. Water Resistance
Note: The Pentax Q7 is NOT water resistant. Avoid exposure to water, rain, or high humidity.

- Camera does not power on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Check if the memory card is properly seated.
- Images are blurry: Verify that the lens is clean and properly attached. Check focus settings and ensure sufficient light for the chosen shutter speed. Utilize the sensor-shift image stabilization.
- Excessive noise in images: This may occur at high ISO settings, especially in low light. Try reducing the ISO or using a flash/external light source.
- Memory card error: Reinsert the memory card. If the issue persists, try a different compatible memory card. Ensure the card is not locked.
- Flash not firing: Check flash mode settings. Ensure the flash is popped up correctly.
