4. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Press the power button to turn on the pump. The display will illuminate.
- Massage Mode (Letdown): The pump typically starts in massage mode (also known as letdown mode), which uses a fast, shallow suction to stimulate milk flow. This mode mimics a baby's initial rapid suckling.
- Adjust Cycle and Vacuum: Use the 'Cycle' buttons to adjust the speed of the suction and the 'Vacuum' buttons to adjust the strength of the suction. Find a setting that is comfortable and effective for you.
- Expression Mode: Once milk begins to flow, switch to expression mode by pressing the wave button. This mode uses slower, deeper suctions for efficient milk removal. Adjust cycle and vacuum settings as needed.
- Nightlight Feature: Press the light bulb button to turn on the built-in nightlight, useful for nighttime pumping sessions without disturbing others.
- Battery Life: The S1 Plus offers approximately 3 hours of battery life on a full charge, allowing for portable use.

5. Maintenance
Proper cleaning and sanitization are crucial for maintaining hygiene and pump performance. All parts that come into contact with breast milk (such as breast shields, tubing, and bottles) must be cleaned and sanitized properly after each use.
- Disassemble: Separate all parts that came into contact with breast milk.
- Clean: Wash all disassembled parts in warm, soapy water. Use a dedicated brush for cleaning pump parts.
- Rinse: Rinse thoroughly under clear running water.
- Sanitize: Sanitize parts by boiling them in water for 5 minutes or using a steam sterilizer.
- Dry: Air dry on a clean paper towel or drying rack. Avoid using cloth towels as they may leave lint.
- Motor Unit: Wipe the main pump unit with a clean, damp cloth. Do not submerge the motor unit in water.
Safety Warning: Ensure parts that come into contact with breast milk (such as the breast shield, tubing, and bottles) are cleaned and sanitized properly after each use.

6. Troubleshooting
- Low Suction: Check all connections for leaks. Ensure tubing is not kinked or damaged. Verify that the backflow protector is correctly assembled and not wet.
- No Milk Expression: Ensure proper flange size. Experiment with different cycle and vacuum settings to find what works best for your body. Try massage mode to stimulate letdown.
- Pump Not Turning On: Ensure the pump is charged (S1 Plus) or properly plugged into a power outlet (S2 Plus).
- Unusual Noises: If the pump makes unusual noises, discontinue use and contact customer support.
