1. Introduction

The AcuRite Wind Weather Center Weather Station provides comprehensive weather information directly from your backyard. This device utilizes patented self-calibrating technology to generate a personalized 12 to 24-hour weather forecast, ensuring accuracy for your specific location.

Key features include indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings, daily high/low records, heat index, wind speed and wind chill, a multi-variable history chart, moon phase display, and an atomic clock with calendar. The atomic clock automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time (DST) for precise timekeeping.

3.1 Battery Installation

The weather station requires a total of seven (7) AA batteries (not included) for operation.

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Locate the battery compartment on the wireless outdoor sensor. Insert four (4) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Securely close the battery compartment.
  2. Display Unit: Locate the battery compartment on the back of the digital display unit. Insert three (3) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Securely close the battery compartment.

It is recommended to use high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries for optimal performance, especially in cold weather conditions for the outdoor sensor.

3.2 Wireless Outdoor Sensor Placement

Proper placement of the wireless outdoor sensor is crucial for accurate readings.

3.3 Digital Display Unit Setup

Once batteries are installed in both units, the display unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor and receive the atomic clock signal.

4.1 Display Overview

The display is designed for clear readability. Most data points are self-explanatory. Pay attention to trend arrows next to temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure for changes.

  • Verify the display unit is not near heat vents or direct sunlight indoors.
Atomic clock not setting.
  • Place the display unit near a window for better signal reception.
  • Ensure the correct timezone is selected in the settings.
  • Allow up to 24 hours for the signal to be received.
Wind speed not registering.
  • Check if the wind cups on the outdoor sensor are spinning freely. Clear any obstructions.
  • Ensure the sensor is mounted in an open area, not blocked by obstacles.
