3. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and accessories.
  2. Cleaning: Before first use, wash the inner pot, glass lid, measuring cup, and rice spatula with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure the voltage of your power outlet matches the specifications of the rice cooker (230V). Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of uncooked rice typically yields about 2-3 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
  3. Add Rice and Water: Place the rinsed rice into the non-stick inner pot. Add the appropriate amount of water. A common ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1.5-2 cups of water, but this may vary depending on the type of rice. Refer to the water level markings inside the inner pot for guidance.
  4. Place Inner Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it into the main unit. Rotate it slightly to ensure good contact with the heating element.
  5. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  6. Start Cooking: Plug in the rice cooker. Press the mechanical switch down to the "Cook" position. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode, and the "Keep Warm" indicator light will illuminate. This function keeps the rice warm until serving.
  8. Serve: After the rice has rested in "Keep Warm" mode for 10-15 minutes (for best results), open the lid carefully to avoid steam burns. Use the provided rice spatula to fluff and serve the rice.

4.2 Keep Warm Function

The rice cooker automatically switches to the "Keep Warm" mode after cooking is complete. This feature maintains the rice at an optimal serving temperature without overcooking. You can manually switch to "Keep Warm" by ensuring the mechanical switch is in the up position (if it was previously in "Cook" mode and you want to stop cooking prematurely, then switch it up).

Note: Do not keep rice in "Keep Warm" mode for extended periods (e.g., more than 12 hours) as it may affect the texture and quality of the rice.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot and Accessories: Remove the inner pot, glass lid, measuring cup, and rice spatula. Wash these parts with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The non-stick inner pot can also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
  3. Exterior of Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Avoid Damage: To prevent damage to the non-stick coating of the inner pot, do not use metal utensils or sharp objects for cleaning or serving.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and storing the rice cooker. Store in a cool, dry place.
