4. Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your White's Coinmaster Metal Detector:

1. Attach the search coil to the lower stem using the provided bolt and wing nut. Ensure it is secure but not overtightened.
2. Insert the lower stem into the middle stem, adjusting the length to a comfortable operating position. Secure with the locking collar.
3. Slide the control box onto the upper stem. Ensure the arm cuff is positioned comfortably for your forearm.
4. Wrap the search coil cable securely around the stem, leaving enough slack for coil movement, and plug the connector into the control box. Tighten the collar on the connector.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The Coinmaster requires two 9-volt batteries for operation. To install:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the control box.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert two 9-volt batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Power On/Off

6.2 Target Identification (Target ID)

The Coinmaster features an 8-segment display that provides visual identification of detected targets. When a target is detected, an icon corresponding to the probable metal type (e.g., nail, foil, 5¢, 1¢, 25¢) will appear on the screen. This helps you decide whether to dig or ignore the target.

6.3 Depth Reading

The LCD screen also displays a depth reading, indicating how deep the detected target is. This feature helps you determine the effort required for recovery and can assist in deciding whether to dig.

6.4 Discrimination (DISC)

The 5-segment discrimination filter allows you to ignore unwanted metallic objects like iron and pull tabs. Use the DISC buttons (up/down arrows) to adjust the discrimination level. Increasing the discrimination level will filter out more conductive metals, while decreasing it will allow more types of metal to be detected.

6.5 Sensitivity (SENS)

Adjust the detector's sensitivity using the SENS buttons (up/down arrows). Higher sensitivity settings can detect deeper targets but may also be more susceptible to ground mineralization and electrical interference. Lower sensitivity settings reduce interference but may decrease detection depth.

6.6 Pinpoint Mode (P/P PINPOINT)

Press the P/P PINPOINT button to activate pinpoint mode. This mode helps you precisely locate the target's position before digging, minimizing the size of the excavation. The detector will emit a continuous tone that increases in pitch and volume as you move the coil directly over the target's center.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the control box and shaft with a damp cloth. The search coil is waterproof and can be rinsed with fresh water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Care: Remove batteries if the detector will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Storage: Store the detector in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Cable Inspection: Periodically check the search coil cable for any signs of wear or damage.
