Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to components.

1. CPU Installation

This motherboard supports AMD AM3+ FX, AM3 Phenom II, and Athlon II series processors. Carefully open the CPU socket lever, align the CPU with the socket (matching the golden triangle on the CPU to the triangle on the socket), gently place the CPU into the socket, and then close the lever to secure it.

2. Memory (RAM) Installation

The motherboard features four 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets, supporting up to 32 GB of system memory. Compatible speeds include DDR3 2000(O.C), 1866, 1333, and 1066 MHz. Open the clips on both ends of the DIMM slot, align the memory module with the slot key, and press firmly until the clips snap into place.

3. Storage Device Installation

Connect your SATA storage devices (HDDs, SSDs) to the 6 native SATA 6Gb/s connectors. These ports support RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and JBOD configurations. Ensure proper cable connection for both data and power.

4. Expansion Card Installation

The motherboard provides 2 PCI Express x16 slots (one running at x16, one at x4), 3 PCI Express x1 slots, and 2 PCI slots. Insert your graphics cards or other expansion cards firmly into the appropriate slots until they are securely seated.

5. Power Connections

Connect the 24-pin ATX main power connector and the 8-pin ATX 12V power connector from your power supply to the corresponding sockets on the motherboard.

6. Rear Panel Connections

Connect your peripherals to the rear I/O panel. This includes USB devices, Ethernet cable, and audio devices.

7. Internal Headers

Connect front panel USB ports (up to 12 USB 2.0/1.1 ports and 4 USB 3.0/2.0 ports), audio jacks, and system indicators/buttons to the respective headers on the motherboard.

Operating Instructions

After successful installation, power on your system. The GIGABYTE UEFI Dual BIOS provides a user-friendly interface for system configuration. You can access the BIOS setup by pressing the Del key during system startup.
