Safety Information

- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation or servicing. The disposer must be properly grounded. Do not operate with wet hands or while standing in water.
- Personal Safety: Never put hands or fingers into the disposer opening. Use the stopper or a long utensil to push food into the disposer. Keep children away from the disposer during operation.
- Prohibited Items: Do not dispose of glass, metal, plastic, large bones, clam or oyster shells, caustic drain cleaners, or hot grease into the disposer. These items can damage the unit or plumbing.
- Water Usage: Always run cold water while the disposer is operating and for a few seconds after it has finished grinding.
Setup and Installation
The InSinkErator Evolution Plus 1000 EC is designed for flexible installation and is compatible with sinks equipped with a 3.5-inch (90mm) drain valve. It requires a 1 6/4" pipe connection and a 33 mm hole for the air switch.
Installation Overview
- Ensure the sink flange is properly sealed and secured to the sink opening.
- Connect the disposer to the sink flange using the mounting assembly.
- Attach the drain pipe to the disposer's discharge outlet.
- Install the air switch button in a convenient location on the countertop or sink.

Operating Instructions
The Evolution Plus 1000 EC features a chrome air switch for convenient and safe operation.
Daily Use
- Remove the sink stopper.
- Turn on a medium flow of cold water.
- Press the air switch button to activate the disposer.
- Scrape food waste into the sink opening. The MultiGrind technology will process waste in two stages for fine grinding.
- Continue running the disposer and cold water for a few seconds after grinding is complete to flush the system.
- Press the air switch button again to turn off the disposer.
The large 980 ml grinding chamber efficiently handles various food residues, including fruit and vegetable scraps, small bones, and fibrous waste.

Troubleshooting

- Disposer Not Starting:
- Check if the unit is plugged in securely.
- Press the red reset button located on the bottom of the disposer.
- Check your circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Disposer Hums but Doesn't Grind:
- This indicates an object is jammed in the grinding chamber. Turn off the disposer and disconnect power.
- Use an Allen wrench (provided with the unit) to insert into the center hole on the bottom of the disposer and turn it back and forth to free the jam.
- Remove the object with tongs or pliers. Never use your hands.
- Press the reset button before restarting.
- Leaks:
- Check all plumbing connections for tightness.
- Inspect the sink flange for proper sealing.
- Ensure the dishwasher inlet plug is properly installed if not connecting a dishwasher, or removed if connecting one.
