2. Important Safety Instructions

Always follow these basic safety precautions when operating electronic equipment:

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully unpack your mixer and inspect it for any signs of damage. Place the mixer on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

4.2 Power Connection

Connect the supplied power cable to the mixer's power inlet and then to a suitable AC power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting. The mixer also features a separate phantom power switch for condenser microphones.

4.3 Audio Connections

Connect your microphones, instruments, and other audio sources to the appropriate input channels. Use XLR cables for microphones and 1/4-inch TRS/TS cables for line-level instruments. Connect your main output to your amplifier or powered speakers using XLR or 1/4-inch cables.

4.4 USB Audio Interface Connection

To use the built-in USB audio interface, connect a USB cable from the mixer's USB port to your computer. Install any necessary drivers or software as prompted by your operating system or as specified by Behringer's support website.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Signal Flow

Audio signals enter through the input channels, pass through the preamp, EQ, and compressor sections, then are routed to the main mix, auxiliary sends, or USB interface. The main mix is controlled by the MAIN MIX faders.

5.2 Channel Controls

  • GAIN: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel.
  • COMP: Controls the amount of compression applied to the channel.
  • EQ: High, Mid, and Low controls to shape the tone of each channel.
  • AUX/FX: Sends signal to external effects or monitor mixes.
  • PAN/BAL: Positions the signal in the stereo field.
  • MUTE: Silences the channel.
  • LEVEL FADER: Adjusts the output level of the channel to the main mix.

5.3 Klark Teknik FX Processor

The integrated Klark Teknik FX processor offers a variety of effects. Use the PROGRAM knob to select an effect and the PARAMETER knob to adjust its settings. The TAP button can be used for tempo-based effects.

5.4 USB Audio Interface

The USB interface allows for stereo recording of the main mix to your computer and stereo playback from your computer through the mixer. Ensure your computer's audio settings are configured to use the XENYX QX1222USB as the input/output device.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the mixer's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish and controls. Do not allow liquids to enter the mixer.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the mixer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Consider covering the unit to protect it from dust.
