  • LCD Display: Shows X/Y axis inclination percentages, rotation speed, and battery status.
  • Rotation Speed Button (C): Adjusts the rotation speed of the laser beam (4 speeds available).
  • Scanner Function Button (A): Activates the scanning mode, projecting a defined laser line instead of a full rotation.
  • Slope Adjustment Buttons (X/Y, Up/Down Arrows): Used to manually set inclinations on the X and Y axes.
  • TILT Button: Activates the TILT function for automatic level monitoring.
  • MRS CAL Button: Used for calibration and specific settings.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the device.
  2. Insert the rechargeable battery pack, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.
  4. Connect the charger to the device and a power outlet. Allow the battery to fully charge before first use. The display will indicate charging status.

5.2 Mounting the Laser Level

The Metrica 60825 can be used on a stable surface, a tripod, or with the included wall mount.

  • Tripod Mounting: Secure the laser level to a standard construction tripod using the threaded mount on the base of the unit.
  • Wall Mounting: Attach the wall mount to a vertical surface using appropriate fasteners. Then, secure the laser level to the wall mount.
  • Placement: Ensure the device is placed on a firm, level surface to assist the automatic leveling mechanism.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On and Automatic Leveling

  1. Press the power button to turn on the device.
  2. The laser level will automatically begin self-leveling. This process is indicated by a flashing laser beam or a specific icon on the display.
  3. Once leveled, the laser beam will become steady, and the device is ready for use. If the device is outside its self-leveling range, an alarm may sound, and the laser will flash rapidly. Adjust the device's position until it can self-level.

6.2 Horizontal Operation

For horizontal leveling, place the device upright. The laser will project a 360° horizontal plane.

6.3 Vertical Operation

To project a vertical plane, lay the device on its side using the provided stand or wall mount. The laser will project a 360° vertical plane and a plumb point.

6.4 Inclined Planes (Double Slope)

The Metrica 60825 supports setting inclinations on both X and Y axes. This is typically done in manual mode or by using the slope adjustment buttons (X/Y, Up/Down Arrows) on the control panel or remote control. Refer to the display for current slope values.

6.5 TILT Function

The TILT function is a safety feature that monitors the level of the device. If the laser level is disturbed or moved significantly after being leveled, the TILT function will activate, stopping the rotation and flashing the laser beam to indicate that the level has been compromised. This prevents inaccurate measurements.

  1. After the device has self-leveled, press the TILT button to activate the function.
  2. If the device is moved, the TILT alarm will sound, and the laser will stop rotating.
  3. To resume operation, re-level the device and press the TILT button again.

6.6 Scanner Function

The scanner function allows you to project a defined laser line (segment) instead of a full 360° rotation. This is useful for working in specific areas or when you want to avoid projecting the laser into unwanted zones.

  • Press the Scanner Function button (A) to cycle through different scan angles.
  • Use the rotation buttons to position the scanned line as needed.

6.7 Rotation Speeds

The device offers 4 different rotation speeds for the laser beam. Slower speeds provide a more visible line, while faster speeds are better for use with the laser receiver over longer distances.

  • Press the Rotation Speed button (C) to cycle through the available speeds.

6.8 Using the Receiver and Remote Control

The included laser receiver extends the working range of the laser level, allowing detection of the laser beam in bright conditions or over long distances. The remote control provides convenient access to all functions from a distance.

  • Refer to the separate instructions for the laser receiver and remote control for detailed operation.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the device regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the laser exit window is clean for optimal performance.
  • Storage: Store the laser level and its accessories in the provided carrying case in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, charge the battery regularly and avoid deep discharges. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery partially (around 50%) every few months.
  • Calibration: Regular calibration checks are recommended to ensure accuracy. If you suspect the device is out of calibration, refer to the MRS CAL function or contact authorized service.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Laser not leveling: Ensure the device is placed on a relatively stable surface and within its self-leveling range. Check for obstructions.
  • Laser beam flashing rapidly/alarm sounding: The device is outside its self-leveling range or the TILT function has been triggered due to movement. Adjust the device's position or reset the TILT function.
  • Laser beam not visible: Check battery level. Ensure the laser exit window is clean. In bright conditions or over long distances, use the laser receiver.
  • Remote control not working: Check the remote control's batteries. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the laser level's receiver.
  • Short battery life: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Battery performance can degrade over time; consider replacing if significantly reduced.
