Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the sandwich maker from its packaging. Retain the packaging for storage or disposal.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly. The non-stick coating does not require seasoning.
- Placement: Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and flammable materials. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Unwind the power cord completely. Plug the appliance into a grounded electrical outlet (230V). The red power indicator light will illuminate, indicating the appliance is receiving power and beginning to preheat.
During the first use, a slight odor or smoke may occur as manufacturing residues burn off. This is normal and will dissipate quickly. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
Operating Instructions
- Preheating: Close the sandwich maker and plug it into the power outlet. The red power indicator light will turn on. Allow the appliance to preheat until the green "ready" indicator light illuminates. This typically takes 3-5 minutes.
- Preparing Sandwiches: While the appliance preheats, prepare your sandwiches. For best results, use standard or extra-large bread slices and avoid overfilling. You can lightly butter the outer sides of the bread for a crispier finish.
- Cooking: Once the green light is on, carefully open the sandwich maker using the cool-touch handle. Place one sandwich on each cooking plate. Close the lid and gently press down the handle until the locking clip engages.
- Cooking Time: Cook for approximately 3-5 minutes, or until the sandwiches are golden brown and the filling is heated through. Cooking time may vary depending on bread type, filling, and desired crispness. The green "ready" light may cycle on and off during cooking, indicating temperature regulation.
- Removing Sandwiches: When cooked, open the lid and carefully remove the sandwiches using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula. Do not use metal utensils, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
- Finishing: Unplug the appliance from the power outlet after use. Allow it to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your sandwich maker.
- Always Unplug: Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet and completely cool before cleaning.
- Cleaning Plates: Wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn food residues, dampen a cloth with a small amount of cooking oil and wipe the plates, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or metal utensils, as these will damage the non-stick surface.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Storage: Once clean and dry, the sandwich maker can be stored vertically to save space, thanks to its compact design. Wrap the power cord around the designated cord storage area underneath the unit.
