5.3 Installation Steps

  1. Mounting: The PA40G is designed for surface mounting or can be placed on a shelf. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  2. Connect Inputs: Connect your audio source(s) to either the Balanced Input or the Summed Inputs (Left In/Right In) on the rear panel.
  3. Connect Speakers: Connect your 70V or 100V speaker system to the Speaker Out terminal. Verify that the total wattage of your speakers does not exceed the amplifier's 40W output.
  4. Connect Power: Ensure the amplifier's gain control is set to minimum. Connect the power cord to the AC Power Inlet and then to a grounded electrical outlet.

  1. Power On: Once all connections are secure, turn on the power to the amplifier. The Power LED on the front panel will illuminate.
  2. Adjust Gain: Slowly increase the Gain control knob on the front panel to achieve the desired output volume. Monitor the Signal and Limit LEDs.
  3. Monitor LEDs:
    • The Signal LED indicates the presence of an audio signal.
    • The Limit LED indicates that the amplifier is operating near its maximum output. If this LED flashes frequently or stays lit, reduce the input signal level or the amplifier's gain to prevent distortion and potential damage.
  4. Power Off: To turn off the amplifier, simply disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet.
