4. Setup and Installation
The SRT ANT 45 ECO antenna is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted on a wall or a pole. Choose a location that provides a clear line of sight to the broadcasting tower, free from obstructions like buildings or trees.
4.1. Choosing a Location
Identify the direction of your local DVB-T/T2 broadcasting tower. Online resources or local TV station websites can provide this information. The antenna should be mounted as high as possible and away from large metal objects that could interfere with the signal.
4.2. Mounting the Antenna
The antenna can be mounted using the provided wall mount or pole mount hardware.
- Wall Mounting:
- Mark the drilling points for the wall bracket.
- Drill holes and insert the wall plugs.
- Secure the bracket to the wall using the screws.
- Attach the antenna to the bracket, ensuring it is firmly secured.
- Pole Mounting:
- Attach the U-bolt and clamps to the antenna mounting point.
- Position the antenna on the pole and tighten the nuts on the U-bolt to secure it firmly.
4.3. Connecting the Antenna
- Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the F-connector on the antenna. Ensure the connection is tight and waterproof.
- Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the "ANT IN" port of the power inserter/amplifier unit.
- Connect another coaxial cable (not always included, may need to be purchased separately) from the "TO TV/RECEIVER" port of the power inserter to the antenna input (ANT IN / RF IN) on your DVB-T/T2 receiver or television.
- Plug the power adapter into the power inserter unit and then into a wall outlet. The power inserter provides the necessary 12V DC power to the active antenna.
The integrated FM signal filter and LTE filter work automatically to reduce interference from FM radio signals and 4G/5G mobile networks, ensuring a clearer DVB-T/T2 signal.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the antenna is installed and connected, you can proceed with scanning for channels on your DVB-T/T2 receiver or television.
- Turn on your DVB-T/T2 receiver or television.
- Navigate to the "Channel Scan" or "Auto Tune" menu option. Refer to your receiver's or TV's manual for specific instructions.
- Initiate the channel scan. The receiver will search for available digital terrestrial channels.
- During the scan, you may need to slightly adjust the antenna's direction to achieve the best signal strength and quality. Use the signal meter on your receiver/TV as a guide.
- Once the scan is complete, save the found channels.
For optimal performance, periodically check for new channels as broadcasting frequencies may change.
6. Maintenance
The STRONG SRT ANT 45 ECO antenna is designed for low maintenance due to its durable, waterproof, and UV-resistant housing.
- Cleaning: If the antenna becomes dirty, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the antenna and its mounting hardware for any signs of wear, corrosion, or loosening, especially after severe weather conditions.
- Cable Connections: Ensure all coaxial cable connections remain tight and sealed to prevent moisture ingress.
7. Troubleshooting
