2. Safety Instructions
Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the pump. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance, installation, or removal of the pump.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water during operation. Running the pump dry can cause damage.
- Do not operate the pump if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- This pump is designed for indoor aquarium use only.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Ensure the electrical outlet has a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety.
- Do not attempt to modify or repair the pump yourself. Contact qualified personnel for service.

4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your Tunze Nano Stream Propeller Pump.
4.1 Pump Placement
- Position the pump in your aquarium to achieve optimal water flow and circulation. Avoid placing it directly against the substrate to prevent stirring up debris.
- The 3D adjustability allows you to direct the flow as needed.

4.2 Mounting with Magnet Holder
- Ensure the aquarium glass is clean and free of algae or debris where the pump will be mounted.
- Place the pump unit with its internal magnet on the inside of the aquarium glass.
- Align the external magnet holder on the outside of the aquarium glass, directly opposite the pump unit. The strong magnets will secure the pump in place.
- Adjust the pump's angle and direction as desired. The Silence Clamp helps reduce vibrations.
The magnet holder is suitable for glass thicknesses up to 15mm (1/2").

4.3 Power Connection
- Connect the pump's power cable to the provided power supply unit.
- Plug the power supply unit into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a GFCI.
5. Operating Instructions
The Tunze 6055.000 Nano Stream Propeller Pump features electronic speed control for flexible operation.
5.1 Electronic Speed Control
The pump's flow rate can be adjusted from 1,000 to 5,500 liters per hour (250 to 1,450 US gallons per hour). This adjustment is typically done via a compatible controller (e.g., Tunze controllers 7092, 7095, and 7096, sold separately). Refer to your controller's manual for specific adjustment procedures.
5.2 Initial Start-up
- Once installed and connected to power, the pump will begin operating.
- Observe the water flow and adjust the pump's position or speed as necessary to achieve desired circulation patterns in your aquarium.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your pump. Always disconnect power before maintenance.
6.1 Cleaning the Pump
Over time, algae and debris can accumulate on the pump's impeller and housing, reducing efficiency. Clean the pump regularly, typically every few months or as needed.
- Disconnect the pump from the power supply.
- Remove the pump from the aquarium.
- Carefully disassemble the pump housing to access the impeller. The front grille can be twisted or unclipped.
- Remove the impeller and its ceramic shaft.
- Clean all components (housing, impeller, shaft) with a soft brush and warm water. For stubborn deposits, a mild vinegar solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing.
- Inspect the impeller and shaft for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Reassemble the pump, ensuring all parts are correctly seated.
- Return the pump to the aquarium and reconnect power.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
7.1 Pump Not Starting or Weak Flow
- Check Power: Ensure the pump is properly plugged in and the power outlet is functional. Verify the power supply unit is connected correctly.
- Impeller Obstruction: Disconnect power, remove the pump, and check the impeller for any debris (algae, sand, snails) that might be blocking it. Clean as described in the Maintenance section.
- Air Lock: Ensure the pump is fully submerged and gently shake it to release any trapped air.
- Controller Settings: If using a controller, check its settings to ensure the flow rate is not set to minimum or off.
7.2 Excessive Noise or Vibration
- Impeller Damage/Wear: Inspect the impeller and ceramic shaft for damage or wear. A worn impeller can cause rattling. Replace if necessary.
- Debris: Clean the impeller and housing thoroughly.
- Mounting: Ensure the magnet holder is securely attached and the Silence Clamp is properly engaged to minimize vibrations against the glass.
- Air Bubbles: Trapped air can cause noise. Ensure the pump is fully submerged and free of air.
7.3 Pump Stops Intermittently
- Overheating: Ensure the pump is adequately cooled by water flow. Check for obstructions.
- Power Fluctuations: Verify stable power supply.
- Controller Issues: If using a controller, check its programming or connection.
