Product Overview

The DiO micro-module is a small, battery-powered transmitter that converts the action of a traditional wall switch into a wireless radio signal. This signal can then control any compatible DiO 1.0 receiver within a 50-meter range (in open field).

Image 2: Close-up view of the DiO micro-module, showing the S1 and S2 terminals for connecting to a wall switch, and the battery compartment.

  • Compact Design: Fits easily behind most standard wall switches.
  • Wireless Control: Transmits radio signals (433.92 MHz) to DiO 1.0 receivers.
  • Battery Powered: Uses a 3V CR2032 battery (not included).
  • Dual Input: Features S1 and S2 terminals for single or double switch configurations.

Installation

The micro-module is designed for easy installation behind an existing wall switch. Ensure the main power supply to the circuit is turned OFF before proceeding with installation.

  1. Prepare the Switch Box: Carefully remove your existing wall switch from its mounting box. Ensure there is sufficient space behind the switch for the micro-module (Dimensions: 14.4 x 10.9 x 2.5 cm).
  2. Connect the Micro-module:
    • Connect the wires from your wall switch to the S1 and/or S2 terminals on the DiO micro-module.
    • For a single switch, use S1. For a double switch (e.g., two-way switch), use both S1 and S2.
    • Important: This micro-module is a transmitter and does not require connection to the 220V mains power. It is battery-operated. Do NOT connect it to the main electrical circuit.
  3. Insert Battery: Open the battery compartment on the micro-module and insert a 3V CR2032 battery, observing correct polarity.
  4. Position the Module: Carefully place the micro-module into the wall switch box, ensuring wires are not pinched.
  5. Reinstall Switch: Mount your wall switch back into its position.
  6. Restore Power: Turn the main power supply back ON.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the DiO micro-module acts as a wireless transmitter for your wall switch. It allows you to control any compatible DiO 1.0 receiver.

Pairing with DiO Receivers

To control a DiO receiver (e.g., a lighting module, smart plug, or shutter module), you must first pair the micro-module with the receiver. The pairing process typically involves:

  1. Activate Learning Mode on Receiver: Refer to your DiO receiver's manual to put it into learning mode. This usually involves pressing a button on the receiver for a few seconds.
  2. Send Pairing Signal: Within 10 seconds of activating learning mode on the receiver, press the wall switch connected to your DiO micro-module. The receiver should confirm successful pairing (e.g., by flashing a light or making a sound).
  3. Test Functionality: Once paired, operate the wall switch to ensure it controls the receiver as expected (e.g., turn lights ON/OFF).

The micro-module supports ON/OFF functions and can be used to centralize control of multiple devices or activate specific scenarios within your DiO smart home system.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: The micro-module is powered by a 3V CR2032 battery. When the battery is low, the transmission range or reliability may decrease. Replace the battery as needed. Ensure proper disposal of old batteries.
  • No User-Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the micro-module yourself. This will void the warranty.

Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Responding:
    • Check the battery in the micro-module. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure the micro-module is correctly paired with the DiO receiver. Repeat the pairing process if unsure.
    • Verify that the DiO receiver is powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Check the distance between the micro-module and the receiver. Obstacles like thick walls or metal structures can reduce the wireless range.
  • Intermittent Operation:
    • This could indicate a low battery. Replace the CR2032 battery.
    • Interference from other wireless devices operating on the same frequency (433.92 MHz) might occur. Try to minimize such interference.
  • Switch Not Activating Module:
    • Ensure the wall switch is correctly wired to the S1/S2 terminals of the micro-module.
