Operating Instructions
A. Home Use (with detachable power cord):
- Connect Power: Insert the detachable power cord into the warmer's port and then plug it into a standard wall outlet.
- Add Water: Pour approximately 100-120ml of distilled or purified water into the warming chamber. Ensure the water level does not exceed the maximum fill line or overflow when the bottle is inserted.
- Place Bottle: Place the baby bottle or food jar into the warming chamber. Ensure the bottle fits securely. The warmer can hold bottles up to 8.4 cm in diameter.
- Select Setting: Turn the control knob to the desired warming setting. Refer to the markings on the warmer for guidance (e.g., milk, food, defrost).
- Warm: The warmer will begin heating. The indicator light will illuminate. Warming time varies based on the initial temperature and volume of the contents.
- Check Temperature: Once warming is complete (indicator light may turn off or change color), carefully remove the bottle. Always shake the bottle gently and check the temperature of the milk/food on your wrist before feeding the baby.
- Disconnect: Unplug the warmer from the outlet after use.
B. Car Use (with car lighter cable - Dry Heating Function):
The Nuvita 1160 features a unique dry heating function for car use, meaning no water is required in the warming chamber when using the car adapter.
- Connect Power: Ensure the detachable power cord is disconnected. Insert the car lighter cable into the warmer's port and then plug the other end into your vehicle's 12V car lighter socket.
- Place Bottle: Place the baby bottle or food jar directly into the warming chamber. Do not add water for car use.
- Select Setting: Turn the control knob to the desired warming setting for car use.
- Warm: The warmer will begin heating. The indicator light will illuminate. Warming time in the car may be longer than home use due to lower power output.
- Check Temperature: Once warming is complete, carefully remove the bottle. Always shake the bottle gently and check the temperature of the milk/food on your wrist before feeding the baby.
- Disconnect: Unplug the warmer from the car lighter socket after use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Always unplug the warmer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the warmer with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Interior (Home Use): After each use with water, empty any remaining water from the warming chamber. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up in the warming chamber, especially with hard water. To descale, mix 50ml of white vinegar with 100ml of cold water and pour it into the warming chamber. Let it stand for 30 minutes (do not heat). Pour out the solution and rinse the chamber thoroughly with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
- Storage: Store the warmer in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Warmer does not turn on. | Not plugged in correctly; power outlet issue; car lighter socket issue. | Ensure power cord/car cable is securely plugged into both the warmer and the power source. Test the outlet/socket with another device. |
| Milk/food not warming sufficiently. | Insufficient water (home use); incorrect setting; too much content; cold initial temperature. | Home Use: Ensure adequate water is added. Car Use: Ensure no water is added. Select a higher setting or allow more time. Ensure the bottle is not too large for the warmer. |
| Warmer takes too long to heat. | Limescale buildup; very cold contents; car use (lower power). | Descale the warmer if using at home. Allow more time for very cold or frozen contents. Car warming is generally slower than home warming. |
| Indicator light not working. | Faulty light; unit not receiving power. | Check power connection. If the unit is heating but the light is off, the light may be faulty. If no heating, refer to "Warmer does not turn on" solution. |
