Thank you for purchasing the Kendal Lighting The Novo Ceiling Fan. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your new ceiling fan. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation and retain it for future reference.

The Novo ceiling fan features a satin nickel finish, four silver blades, an integrated 3-tier light kit, and comes with a full-function remote control for convenient operation.

Safety Information

To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or injury to persons, read and follow all instructions carefully.

• Ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installation or servicing.
• All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
• The fan must be mounted to a ceiling joist or support capable of withstanding a moving weight of at least 35 lbs (15.9 kg).
• Do not operate the fan with damaged parts. Replace any damaged components immediately.
• Do not insert objects into the path of the fan blades while the fan is operating.
• This fan is designed for indoor use only.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your ceiling fan. It is recommended to have two people for installation.

1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power supply to the fan location is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
2. Install Mounting Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling outlet box. Ensure the outlet box is securely fastened to a building structure (e.g., ceiling joist) capable of supporting the fan's weight.
3. Assemble Downrod: Insert the downrod through the canopy and coupling cover. Feed the motor wires through the downrod. Secure the downrod to the fan motor assembly with the provided pin and screws.
4. Hang Fan Assembly: Carefully lift the fan assembly and hang it on the mounting bracket hook. This will free your hands for wiring.
5. Perform Electrical Connections: Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household supply wires according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate wiring guide (if applicable) or standard electrical codes. Typically, black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), and green/bare copper to green (ground). Ensure all connections are secure with wire nuts.
6. Secure Fan to Mounting Bracket: Once wiring is complete, carefully lift the fan assembly and align the holes in the canopy with the screws on the mounting bracket. Secure the fan to the mounting bracket.
7. Attach Fan Blades: Attach each fan blade to its respective blade bracket using the provided screws. Then, attach the blade assemblies to the motor housing. Ensure all screws are tightened securely.
8. Install Light Kit: Connect the light kit wires to the fan motor assembly wires. Secure the light kit to the bottom of the fan motor housing. Install the G9 halogen bulbs into the sockets.
9. Test Fan: Restore power at the circuit breaker. Use the remote control to test the fan and light functions.

Operating Instructions

Your Novo Ceiling Fan comes with a full-function remote control for convenient operation of both the fan and the integrated light kit.

Remote Control Functions:

• Fan ON/OFF: Press to turn the fan on or off.
• Fan Speed Control: Buttons typically marked with fan blade icons or numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3) to adjust fan speed (Low, Medium, High).
• Light ON/OFF: Press to turn the light kit on or off.
• Light Dimming: Hold the light button to dim or brighten the light (if dimmable bulbs are used and the feature is supported).
• Reverse Function: A button (often marked with an arrow circle) to change the direction of the fan blades for summer (downward airflow) or winter (upward airflow) operation. Ensure the fan is off before changing direction.

For optimal performance, ensure the remote control has fresh batteries installed. Refer to the remote control's specific instructions for battery replacement.

• Cleaning: To clean the fan, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
• Blade Cleaning: Dust the fan blades regularly to prevent dust buildup, which can cause wobbling.
• Tighten Screws: Periodically check all screws on the fan motor housing, blade attachments, and mounting bracket to ensure they are secure. Loose screws can cause noise or wobbling.
• Bulb Replacement: To replace the G9 halogen bulbs, ensure the power is off and the bulbs have cooled. Carefully remove the old bulb and insert the new one. Use only 75w T4 G9 120v Halogen bulbs or equivalent.
