5. Setup (Installation)

Follow these steps to install your Rok Hardware SCD101 Soft Close Dampers:

  1. Identify Mounting Location: The damper should be mounted in the upper corner of the cabinet on the side where the hinge is located.
  2. Prepare Pilot Hole: To prevent damaging your cabinets, drill a pilot hole using a 2.3 mm or 3/32" drill bit, approximately 1/4" deep. This is for a #6 x 3/4" pan head screw.
  3. Position Damper: Place the damper firmly into the upper corner, aligning the screw hole with your pilot hole.
  4. Secure Damper: Insert one mounting screw through the damper's hole and tighten it securely. Do not overtighten.
  5. Test and Adjust: Close the cabinet door to test the soft-close function. If needed, proceed to the 'Operating (Adjustment)' section to fine-tune the closing speed.

For most applications, one damper per door is sufficient. For heavier doors, two or more dampers may be required. Trial mounting is advised before purchasing large quantities.
