Assembly is required for this chair. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage. Two people may be helpful for certain steps.

  1. Attach Casters to Base: Insert each of the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the five-star base. Push firmly until they click into place.
  2. Insert Gas Lift Cylinder: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the assembled five-star base. Ensure it is seated firmly.
  3. Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Ensure the front of the mechanism (usually indicated by an arrow or "FRONT" label) faces the front of the seat. Secure with the provided screws and Allen wrench.
  4. Attach Backrest to Seat: Align the backrest support with the corresponding holes on the mechanism plate or seat. Secure with the provided screws.
  5. Connect Seat Assembly to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and backrest onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring the cylinder's top fits securely into the mechanism plate's center hole. Apply downward pressure to seat the components.

5. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the chair's adjustment features to optimize your comfort and support.

  • Pneumatic Seat-Height Adjustment:

Locate the lever on the right side, beneath the seat. To raise the seat, lift the lever while taking your weight off the seat. To lower the seat, lift the lever while seated.

  • 360-Degree Swivel:

The chair is designed to rotate freely 360 degrees on its base, allowing for easy movement and access to your workspace.

  • Tilt Function and Tilt Lock:

The lever on the left side, beneath the seat, controls the tilt function. Pull the lever out to allow the chair to recline. Push the lever in to lock the chair in an upright position.

  • Tilt Tension Adjustment:

The round knob located at the front, under the seat, adjusts the resistance of the tilt mechanism. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline).

  • Posture Mechanism / Back Angle Adjustment:

This mechanism allows the backrest angle to be adjusted independently of the seat. Locate the lever (often a second lever on the right side or a separate knob). Engage this lever to unlock the backrest, adjust it to your desired angle, and then push the lever back in to lock the angle. This allows for multiple locked positions.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and appearance of your Lorell Executive Mesh-Back Chair.

  • Cleaning:

For general cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth. For spot cleaning the fabric seat, use a mild upholstery cleaner and follow the product's instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

  • Inspection:

Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary. Inspect casters for any debris that might hinder smooth movement.

  • Moving the Chair:

When moving the chair, lift it rather than dragging it to prevent damage to the casters or base.
