Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and components from the box.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the removable oil vessel, frying basket, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the fryer body and control panel with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.
  3. Assemble: Place the removable oil vessel securely into the fryer housing. Insert the heating element assembly into its designated slot at the back of the fryer, ensuring it is firmly seated.
  4. Position: Place the assembled fryer on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.
  5. Fill with Oil: Pour cooking oil into the removable vessel, ensuring the oil level is between the MIN and MAX fill lines indicated inside the vessel. The fryer has an oil capacity of 3.8 liters.

  7. Monitor Cooking: The timer will count down. The clear viewing window on the lid allows you to monitor the cooking progress without opening the lid.

  9. Serve: Transfer the fried food to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any remaining oil before serving.
  10. Turn Off: Press the "Cancel" button to stop the heating process. Unplug the fryer from the power outlet when finished.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Breville Smart Fryer, consider the following:

  • Fryer Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the magnetic power cord is securely attached to the unit and plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check if the "Press to Reset" button on the back of the control panel has popped out. If so, press it to reset the unit. This can happen due to power surges or overheating.
  • Oil Not Heating:
    • Verify that the heating element assembly is correctly seated in its slot.
    • Confirm that the desired temperature has been set and the "Start" button has been pressed.
  • Food Not Crispy:
    • Ensure the oil has reached the correct temperature before adding food.
    • Avoid overloading the basket, as this can significantly drop the oil temperature. Fry in smaller batches.
    • For optimal crispiness, especially for fries, utilize the "Fries - Twice Fried" preset function.
