Important Safeguards
When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before use.
- To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
- The iron should always be turned to OFF before plugging or unplugging from the outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
- Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
- Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
- Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron; take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
- Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
- Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
- Use the iron only for its intended use.

Setup
Before First Use:
- Remove any labels, tags, or stickers from the iron's body and soleplate.
- It is recommended to iron an old towel or cloth for a few minutes to remove any residue from the manufacturing process.
Filling the Water Tank:
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
- Hold the iron with the soleplate facing down.
- Open the water fill cover located on the top of the iron.
- Using a clean measuring cup, carefully pour tap water into the water tank until it reaches the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill.
- Close the water fill cover securely.
Note: For optimal performance and to prevent mineral buildup, distilled or demineralized water is recommended, especially in areas with hard water.
Operating Instructions
Temperature Control and Fabric Settings:
- Plug the iron into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the temperature dial to the desired fabric setting. Refer to the fabric care label on your garment.
- The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating. It will turn off once the set temperature is reached.
Dry Ironing:
For dry ironing, ensure the steam control is set to the 'DRY' position (no steam icon). Set the temperature dial to the appropriate fabric setting and wait for the iron to heat up.
Steam Ironing (SmartSteam):
The SmartSteam technology automatically adjusts steam output based on the temperature setting. For steam ironing:
- Fill the water tank as described in the 'Setup' section.
- Set the temperature dial to a steam-appropriate setting (typically settings 4-6 for cotton, linen, etc.). The indicator light will show when the iron is ready.
- The iron will automatically produce steam as you iron.
Vertical Steaming:
This feature is useful for removing wrinkles from hanging garments, drapes, or upholstery.
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Set the temperature dial to the 'MAX' setting.
- Hold the iron vertically, a few inches away from the fabric.
- Press the 'Burst of Steam' button (if available) to release steam.
Spray Mist:
Use the spray mist function to dampen stubborn wrinkles. Press the spray mist button to release a fine mist of water onto the fabric.
Burst of Steam:
For extra stubborn wrinkles, press the 'Burst of Steam' button. This delivers a powerful surge of steam. Allow a few seconds between bursts for the steam to regenerate.
Automatic Shutoff:
For safety, the iron is equipped with a 3-way automatic shutoff feature:
- If left motionless on its soleplate or side, the iron will shut off after 30 seconds.
- If left motionless on its heel rest, the iron will shut off after 8 minutes.

Maintenance
Emptying the Water Tank:
After each use, or before storing, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Open the water fill cover and invert the iron over a sink to drain any remaining water.
Cleaning the Soleplate:
- For minor residue, wipe the cool soleplate with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
- Do not use abrasive scouring pads or metal cleaners, as these can damage the nonstick coating.
Auto Clean System:
The Auto Clean system helps flush out mineral buildup and residue from the steam vents.
- Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
- Plug in the iron and set the temperature dial to 'MAX'.
- Once the indicator light turns off, unplug the iron.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the 'Auto Clean' button (refer to Figure 5). Hot water and steam will flush out from the soleplate.
- Gently rock the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
- Release the 'Auto Clean' button and place the iron on its heel rest to cool.
