5. Setup and Installation
5.1. Mounting the Thermostat
- Choose an appropriate location on an interior wall, away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources.
- Ensure the mounting height is approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet) from the floor for optimal temperature sensing.
- Use the mounting holes on the back of the thermostat (refer to Figure 2) to mark and drill holes in the wall.
- Secure the thermostat base to the wall using appropriate screws and wall plugs.
5.2. Electrical Wiring
WARNING: Disconnect power to your heating/cooling system at the main circuit breaker before proceeding with wiring.
- Connect the thermostat to your heating/cooling system using the dry contact output terminals (max. 5A / 250V AC). Refer to your heating/cooling system's manual for specific wiring diagrams.
- Connect the provided 5V DC, 2.5A power adapter to the thermostat's power input jack.
- Insert 2x AA 1.5V batteries (not included) into the battery compartment for clock backup in case of power failure.
- Once all connections are secure, restore power to the system.
5.3. Initial Configuration
- Language Selection: Upon first power-up, the thermostat will prompt you to select a language (CZ / PL / EN / DE / RU / SVK). Use the control dial to navigate and confirm your choice.
- Date and Time: Set the current date and time. The device supports automatic summer/winter time changes.
- GSM Module Setup: Insert a valid SIM card (not included) into the designated slot. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the GSM module for remote SMS control.
- Operating Mode: Select either heating or cooling mode depending on your system.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Operation
- Display: The large backlit LCD shows the current temperature, time, date, operating mode, and GSM signal strength.
- Control Dial: Use the central dial to navigate menus and adjust settings. Press the dial to confirm selections.
- MENU/ESC Button: Press to access the main menu or to exit a menu/setting without saving changes.
6.2. Programming Weekly Schedules
The PT32 GST allows for 9 weekly programs, with up to 6 temperature changes per day. Programming can be set for individual days, Monday-Friday, Saturday-Sunday, or Monday-Sunday.
- Press the MENU button to enter the main menu.
- Navigate to "Program Settings" and press the dial to select.
- Choose the day(s) or day group you wish to program.
- Set the desired temperature and time for each of the 6 available time slots. Programming resolution is 10 minutes and 0.5°C.
- Save your changes before exiting.
6.3. Advanced Control Features
- PID Control: The thermostat features advanced PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control for precise temperature regulation, minimizing overshoot and maintaining stable temperatures. You can also select Hysteresis or PI control modes.
- Short-Term Temperature Change: Temporarily adjust the temperature without altering the programmed schedule. The thermostat will revert to the schedule at the next programmed event.
- Manual Mode (MANU): Set a constant temperature that overrides the weekly program until manual mode is deactivated.
- Permanent OFF: Turn off the heating/cooling system indefinitely.
- Holiday Mode: Set a specific temperature for a defined period (e.g., during vacation) to save energy.
- External Sensor: The thermostat supports connection of an external temperature sensor for specialized applications.
6.4. Remote Control via GSM
With a properly configured SIM card, you can control your thermostat remotely by sending SMS messages.
- Temperature Change: Send an SMS with a specific command to adjust the set temperature.
- System ON/OFF: Send an SMS to turn the heating/cooling system on or off.

7. Maintenance
