Setup
Battery Installation
Your Starfrit Digital Kitchen Scale requires one CR2032 lithium battery (included). To install or replace the battery:
- Turn the scale upside down.
- Locate the battery compartment cover.
- Open the cover and insert the CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing upwards.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions
Turning On/Off
- To turn on the scale, press the ZERO button. The display will show "0" or "0 g" when ready.
- The scale features an auto-off function that activates after approximately two minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
- To manually turn off the scale, press and hold the ZERO button for a few seconds until the display turns off.
Changing Measurement Units
The scale can measure in various units, including grams (g), pounds:ounces (lb:oz), milliliters (ml) for milk, and milliliters (ml) for water. To cycle through the units:
- Press the MODE button repeatedly to switch between weight (g, lb:oz) and liquid volume (ml for milk, ml for water) measurements.

Tare Function (Zeroing)
The tare function allows you to weigh multiple ingredients in the same container by resetting the scale to zero after each ingredient is added. It also allows you to subtract the weight of a container.
- Place an empty container on the scale. The display will show its weight.
- Press the ZERO button. The display will reset to "0".
- Add your first ingredient to the container. The scale will display the weight of only the ingredient.
- To add another ingredient, press the ZERO button again to reset the display to "0", then add the next ingredient.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
The scale features a durable black tempered glass platform, making it easy to clean. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Do not immerse the scale in water or use abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting
- "Lo" or Low Battery Indicator: If the display shows "Lo", it indicates that the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.
- "Err" or Overload Indicator: If the display shows "Err", the scale is overloaded. Remove items immediately to prevent damage. The maximum capacity is 11 lb / 5 kg.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is placed on a flat, stable surface. Avoid placing it near strong electromagnetic fields or extreme temperature changes. Recalibrate by turning it off and on, or by using the tare function.
