Note: One 100W maximum E26 medium base incandescent bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your motion light fixture:

  1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the installation area is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Prepare Wiring: Carefully remove the old fixture (if applicable) and expose the electrical wires from the junction box.
  3. Mounting Plate Installation: Attach the provided mounting plate to the junction box using the supplied screws. Ensure it is secure.
  4. Wire Connections: Connect the fixture's wires to your household wiring. Typically, this involves connecting:
    • Black (Hot) to Black (Hot)
    • White (Neutral) to White (Neutral)
    • Green or Bare Copper (Ground) to Green or Bare Copper (Ground)
    Use wire nuts to secure all connections.
  5. Secure Fixture: Carefully tuck the wires into the junction box and align the fixture with the mounting plate. Secure the fixture to the mounting plate using the provided screws.
  6. Install Bulb: Screw in one 100W maximum E26 medium base incandescent bulb (not included) into the socket.
  7. Seal Fixture: Apply weather-resistant caulk around the edges of the fixture where it meets the wall to prevent water entry.
  8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
