Setup & Installation
Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment latch at the rear of the light.
- Flip the latch back to open the compartment.
- Insert the two (2) CR123A lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the compartment by pushing the latch back into place until it clicks securely.
Rail Mounting
The TLR-1 HL features a rail clamp system for quick and secure attachment without tools. It mounts directly to handguns with Glock-style rails and MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails. Specific rail locating keys are included for various firearm models.
- Select the appropriate rail locating key for your firearm.
- Loosen the rail clamp screw on the light.
- Align the light's rail clamp with your firearm's accessory rail.
- Slide the light onto the rail until the locating key engages with the rail slot.
- Tighten the rail clamp screw firmly by hand. Ensure the light is securely attached and does not wobble.

Operating Instructions
The TLR-1 HL features an ambidextrous switch for easy operation:
- Momentary On: Press and hold either paddle switch. The light will remain on as long as the switch is held. Release to turn off.
- Constant On/Off: Quickly tap and release either paddle switch to turn the light on. Tap and release again to turn it off.
- Strobe Function: Rapidly double-tap either paddle switch (within 0.4 seconds) to activate the strobe mode. To turn off the strobe, tap and release either paddle switch.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Streamlight TLR-1 HL, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the light with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For more stubborn residue, especially around the lens, use a mild soap solution or a specialized gun cleaning solvent like Ballistol, applied to a cloth, not directly to the light.
- Lens Care: Keep the lens clean and free of smudges for maximum light output. Use a lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the light output diminishes. Always use fresh, high-quality CR123A lithium batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
- O-Ring Inspection: Periodically inspect the O-rings for any signs of wear or damage. Lubricate them lightly with silicone grease to maintain the waterproof seal.
