Operating Instructions
The Stanley 31221 offers three primary operating modes: Dusk-to-Dawn, Dusk-Timed, and Countdown.
Mode Selection
Press the MODE button (typically a small button near the display) to cycle through the available settings. The LED display will indicate the selected mode or time duration.
1. Dusk-to-Dawn Operation
In this mode, the connected devices will turn ON automatically when it gets dark (dusk) and turn OFF when it gets light (dawn).
- Plug in the timer.
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the display shows "DD" or a similar indicator for Dusk-to-Dawn.
- Connect your devices to the grounded outlets.
- The timer will now operate automatically based on ambient light.
2. Dusk-Timed Operation (1-9 Hours)
In this mode, the connected devices will turn ON at dusk and remain ON for a set duration (1 to 9 hours), then turn OFF.
- Plug in the timer.
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the display shows a number (e.g., "1H", "2H", ..., "9H"). This number represents the hours the timer will stay ON after dusk.
- To adjust the duration, press the SET button (or the same MODE button if it cycles through hours) until the desired number of hours (1-9) is displayed.
- Connect your devices.
- The timer will now activate at dusk for the programmed duration.
3. Countdown Mode (1-9 Hours)
This mode allows you to turn the devices ON immediately for a set duration (1 to 9 hours), after which they will turn OFF.
- Plug in the timer.
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the display shows "ON" or a similar indicator for immediate activation.
- To set the countdown duration, press the SET button (or the same MODE button if it cycles through hours) until the desired number of hours (1-9) is displayed.
- Connect your devices.
- The devices will turn ON immediately and remain ON for the set countdown period.
Manual Override
Some models may feature a manual override button. If present, pressing this button will temporarily switch the timer ON or OFF, overriding the current program. The timer will revert to its programmed state during the next cycle.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the timer from the power source before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
