3. Setup
3.1 Attaching the Lens
- Ensure your camera is powered off.
- Remove the rear lens cap from the lens and the body cap from your camera.
- Align the mounting index (red dot) on the lens with the mounting index on the camera body.
- Insert the lens into the camera mount and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.
3.2 Attaching the Lens Hood
The included lens hood helps to prevent unwanted light from entering the lens, reducing flare and ghosting. It attaches via a bayonet mount.
- Align the lens hood with the front of the lens.
- Rotate the hood clockwise until it locks securely into position.

4. Operating the Lens
4.1 Zoom Ring
Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the focal length between 14mm (wide-angle) and 42mm (telephoto). The lens barrel extends when zooming. The 35mm-format equivalent focal length range is 28-84mm.
4.2 Focus Ring
The focus ring allows for manual focus adjustments. In autofocus mode, the camera will automatically focus. This lens features a quiet and quick AF motor.
4.3 Aperture
The lens has a variable maximum aperture of F3.5 at the wide end (14mm) and F5.6 at the telephoto end (42mm). The minimum aperture is F22.
4.4 MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization)
