5. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your thermo pot.
5.1 Exterior Cleaning
- Unplug the thermo pot and allow it to cool completely.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
5.2 Interior Cleaning and Descaling
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the pot, especially with hard tap water. Descaling is essential for efficient operation.
- Unplug the thermo pot and ensure it is empty and cool.
- For descaling, fill the pot with a solution of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a descaling agent specifically designed for electric kettles/thermo pots. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Close the lid and press the Boil button.
- Allow the solution to sit in the pot for at least 30 minutes after boiling, or longer for heavy buildup.
- Carefully pour out the descaling solution.
- Rinse the interior thoroughly with clean water several times to remove any residue and odor.
- Perform 2-3 cycles of boiling and discarding clean water to ensure all descaling agent is removed before regular use.
