1. Important Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before assembling and using the Graco Contempo Highchair. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death.

3. Setup and Assembly

The Graco Contempo Highchair requires minimal assembly, primarily attaching the wheels. Ensure all components are present and undamaged before proceeding.

3.1 Unfolding the Highchair

1. Place the folded highchair on a flat, stable surface.
2. Locate the folding mechanisms on the sides of the frame (refer to your product for exact location, typically buttons or levers).
3. Press the release buttons/levers and gently pull the legs apart until the highchair clicks into its fully open position. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged.

3.2 Attaching the Wheels

1. Identify the four wheels.
2. Insert each wheel stem firmly into the designated holes at the bottom of the highchair legs until they click securely into place.
3. Test the wheels by gently pushing the highchair to ensure they are properly attached and rotate freely.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Adjusting Seat Height (6 Positions)

1. To adjust the height, locate the height adjustment levers on both sides of the highchair frame, typically near the seat.
2. Simultaneously press and hold both levers.
3. Raise or lower the seat to the desired height. Release the levers to lock the seat into one of the six available positions. Ensure both sides are locked evenly.

4.2 Adjusting Seat Recline (3 Positions)

1. To recline the seat, locate the recline adjustment handle, usually at the back of the seat.
2. Press the handle and gently push the seat back to one of the three recline positions. Release the handle to lock the seat.
3. This feature is ideal for younger infants or for post-meal naps.

4.3 Using and Adjusting the Tray

1. Attaching the Tray: Align the tray with the armrests and push it onto the highchair until it clicks into place.
2. Adjusting Tray Position (One-Hand): Locate the tray release/adjustment lever, typically under the center of the tray. Press the lever and slide the tray forward or backward to the desired distance from your child. Release the lever to lock.
3. Removing the Tray: Press the tray release/adjustment lever and pull the tray away from the highchair.
4. Using the Double Tray: The highchair comes with two trays. The top tray is removable for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe.

4.4 Securing Your Child with the 5-Point Harness

1. Place your child in the highchair.
2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and the waist straps around their waist.
3. Insert the buckle tongues into the buckle housing until they click.
4. Adjust the straps to ensure a snug but comfortable fit. The harness should be tight enough so that you cannot pinch any slack in the webbing.
5. To release, press the button on the center buckle.

4.5 Folding for Storage

1. Remove the tray.
2. Ensure the seat is in its most upright position.
3. Locate the folding mechanisms (same as unfolding). Press the release buttons/levers and push the legs together until the highchair is in its compact folded state.
4. The highchair is designed to stand alone when folded for convenient storage.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.1 Cleaning the Seat Pad

The seat pad is easily washable. Refer to the care label on the seat pad for specific washing instructions. Typically, it can be machine washed on a delicate cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Air dry only.

5.2 Cleaning the Tray and Frame

• The removable top tray is dishwasher safe for thorough cleaning.
• Wipe the main tray and highchair frame with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before use.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.

5.3 Storage

When not in use, fold the highchair into its compact position and store it in a dry, safe place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

• Highchair does not unfold/fold smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all levers are fully pressed or released.
• Seat height/recline not locking: Make sure the adjustment levers are fully engaged. If the mechanism feels stiff, ensure it is clean and free of debris.
• Tray not attaching/adjusting: Verify that the tray is correctly aligned with the armrests. Check the one-hand adjustment lever for proper function.
• Harness not securing child: Ensure all buckle tongues are fully inserted and clicked into the buckle housing. Adjust straps for a snug fit.
