- Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the five-star base.
- Attach Mechanism to Seat: Secure the mechanism plate to the underside of the seat cushion using the provided screws. Ensure the front of the mechanism aligns with the front of the seat.
- Attach Armrests to Seat: Fasten the armrests to the sides of the seat cushion using the designated screws.
- Attach Back to Seat: Connect the chair back to the seat assembly, typically by aligning brackets and securing with screws.

Operating Instructions
Your Lorell LLR84868 chair offers several adjustment features to customize your seating experience:

1. Pneumatic Seat-Height Adjustment
- To Raise: While standing, pull the lever located on the right side of the seat upwards. The seat will rise automatically. Release the lever at the desired height.
- To Lower: While seated, pull the lever located on the right side of the seat upwards. The seat will lower under your body weight. Release the lever at the desired height.
2. 360-Degree Swivel
The chair is designed to swivel freely 360 degrees, allowing for easy movement and access to your workspace without needing to reposition the entire chair.
3. Tilt, Tilt Tension, and Tilt Lock
- Tilt Function: To allow the chair to recline, pull the same lever used for height adjustment (on the right side) outwards from the chair. This unlocks the tilt mechanism.
- Tilt Lock: To lock the chair in an upright position, push the lever inwards towards the chair.
- Tilt Tension: The round knob located underneath the front of the seat controls the tilt tension. Turn the knob clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to recline) or counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline). Adjust to your preferred resistance.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: For the mesh back and upholstered seat, use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Casters: Periodically clean the casters to remove dust, hair, and debris that may impede smooth rolling.
- Fasteners: Regularly check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten as needed to maintain stability and safety.
- Gas Lift: The gas lift is a sealed unit and requires no maintenance. If it fails to function, contact customer support for replacement.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Chair does not raise or lower. | Gas lift cylinder malfunction or lever not engaged. | Ensure the height adjustment lever is fully pulled up. If the problem persists, the gas lift may need replacement. |
| Chair wobbles or feels unstable. | Loose screws or improper assembly. | Check and tighten all assembly screws, especially those connecting the seat, back, and armrests. Ensure the gas lift is fully seated in the base. |
| Casters do not roll smoothly. | Debris caught in casters. | Remove any hair, dust, or debris from the caster wheels. |
| Chair does not tilt or is difficult to tilt. | Tilt lock engaged or tilt tension too high. | Pull the tilt lever outwards to unlock. Adjust the tilt tension knob counter-clockwise to decrease resistance. |
| Squeaking noises. | Loose connections or friction between parts. | Tighten all screws. A small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied to moving parts, avoiding the gas lift. |
