1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera in Black. The Instax Mini 8 is a compact and user-friendly instant camera designed to capture and print photos instantly. 4. Setup
4.1 Inserting Batteries
- Open the battery cover located on the side of the camera.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery cover securely.
4.2 Loading Film
- Open the film chamber cover on the back of the camera.
- Align the yellow mark on the film pack with the yellow mark on the camera.
- Insert the film pack straight into the chamber. Do not press the two rectangular holes on the back of the film pack.
- Close the film chamber cover. The film counter will display 'S' and the protective film cover will eject automatically.
Important: Do not open the film chamber cover until all 10 films have been used, as this will expose the remaining film and render it unusable.
5. Operating the Camera
5.1 Turning On/Off
- To turn on: Press the button next to the lens to extend the lens.
- To turn off: Push the lens back into the camera body.
5.2 Taking a Photo
- Turn on the camera. The exposure mode lamp next to the lens will light up.
- Rotate the brightness adjustment dial to the position indicated by the lit lamp.
- Frame your shot using the viewfinder.
- Press the shutter button to take the picture. The film will eject from the top slot.
5.3 High-Key Mode
For brighter, softer photos, especially for portraits, turn the brightness adjustment dial to the High-Key mode (indicated by 'Hi-Key' or a flower icon).

6. Maintenance
- Keep the camera clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the camera to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or high humidity.
- Store film in a cool, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera does not turn on: Check if batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Film does not eject: Ensure a film pack is loaded correctly. If the film counter shows 'S' and the protective cover hasn't ejected, try turning the camera off and on again.
- Photos are too dark/light: Verify the brightness adjustment dial is set to the recommended position indicated by the lit LED lamp.
