Maintenance
Software Updates
Periodically check the RT Systems official website for software updates. Updates may include bug fixes, performance improvements, or compatibility enhancements.
Cable Care
Store the USB-29A cable in a clean, dry place. Avoid bending or kinking the cable excessively, as this can damage the internal wires. Keep connectors free from dust and debris.
Troubleshooting
- Software Not Launching: Ensure your operating system meets the minimum requirements. Try reinstalling the software.
- Cable Not Recognized: Verify the USB-29A cable is securely connected to both the computer and the radio. Check Device Manager in Windows to see if the USB device is listed and if drivers are installed correctly. Ensure you are using the RT Systems cable.
- Programming Errors: Double-check that the correct radio model (IC-2200 or IC-2300) is selected in the software. Ensure the radio is powered on and in a state ready for programming.
- Data Loss During Editing: It is crucial to save your work frequently, especially when making multiple changes or importing data. If the program unexpectedly closes, unsaved changes may be lost.
- "Cannot Connect to Radio" Error: Confirm the cable is properly seated, the radio is on, and the correct COM port is selected in the software settings (if applicable).
