Setup and Installation

The MB-118 bracket is designed for versatile mounting of your ICOM transceiver. It can be installed to allow the radio to be mounted either above or below a surface, such as a dashboard or shelf.

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location: Select a flat, stable surface for installation. Ensure there is sufficient space for the transceiver and that the location does not obstruct vehicle controls or safety devices.
  2. Attach Bracket to Transceiver: Align the bracket with the mounting holes on the side of your ICOM IC-7200 or IC-7300 transceiver. Use the provided screws to securely fasten the bracket to the radio. Ensure the screws are tightened firmly but do not overtighten.
  3. Position the Transceiver with Bracket: Place the transceiver (with the attached bracket) in the desired mounting location. Mark the positions for the mounting screws on the chosen surface through the slots on the bracket.
  4. Secure the Bracket to the Surface: Drill pilot holes if necessary, then use appropriate screws and washers to secure the bracket to the mounting surface. The elongated slots on the bracket allow for some adjustment in positioning. Ensure all screws are tightened securely to prevent any movement of the radio during use.
