4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Mounting
The C31 thermostat is designed for wall mounting, typically in a standard 503 electrical box. Ensure the mounting location is away from direct heat sources, drafts, or direct sunlight to ensure accurate temperature readings.

4.2 Wiring
The thermostat requires a 2-wire connection to your heating system. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the product packaging for specific connection points. Always disconnect power at the main circuit breaker before performing any wiring.
- Turn off the main power supply to your heating system.
- Mount the thermostat base plate to the 503 electrical box.
- Connect the two wires from your heating system to the designated terminals on the thermostat base.
- Secure the thermostat unit onto the base plate.
- Restore power to the heating system.
4.3 Battery Installation
The C31 is powered by 3 x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries. The battery compartment is typically located on the back of the unit or behind a removable front panel.
