Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DVI-D splitter, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Environment: Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Cable Management: Avoid bending or crimping cables excessively, as this can damage them and affect signal quality.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DVI-D splitter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Video Output:
    • Check all DVI-D cable connections between the source, splitter, and displays. Ensure they are secure.
    • Verify that the power adapter is correctly connected to the splitter and a working power outlet. The POWER/INPUT LED should be on.
    • Ensure both the video source and displays are powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Try connecting the DVI-D source directly to a display to confirm the source and display are working independently.
  • No Audio Output:
    • Check all 3.5mm audio cable connections between the source, splitter, and audio receivers/speakers.
    • Ensure the audio source is playing sound and the audio receivers/speakers are powered on and set to the correct input.
  • Flickering or Distorted Video:
    • Ensure you are using high-quality DVI-D cables. Poor quality or excessively long cables can degrade signal.
    • Verify that the resolution and refresh rate settings of your source are compatible with your displays and the splitter.
    • Check for any electromagnetic interference (EMI) from other electronic devices.
  • HDCP Content Not Displaying:
    • Ensure your DVI-D source and all connected displays are HDCP compliant.
    • Some older displays or non-HDCP compliant devices may not work with protected content.
