1. Product Overview

The Fantini Cosmi C32 is an electronic microprocessor thermostat designed for daily programming of both heating and air conditioning systems. It features a user-friendly mechanical clock and offers two distinct temperature setting levels: Comfort and Economy. An additional anti-freeze function maintains a fixed temperature of +5°C to protect your system.

This thermostat is battery-powered and designed for ease of use and reliable climate control in your home or office.

2. Setup and Installation

2.2 Power Supply

The C32 thermostat requires four (4) 12V batteries for operation. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment.

2.3 Mounting

The thermostat is designed for wall mounting and can be installed directly onto a standard 503 electrical box or a flat wall surface. Ensure the mounting location is away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources that could affect temperature readings.

2.4 Wiring

Connect the thermostat to your heating or air conditioning system according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate installation guide (if applicable) or by a qualified electrician. The terminal block is designed for secure wire connections.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Setting the Mechanical Clock

To set the current time, rotate the outer ring of the mechanical clock until the current hour aligns with the reference mark. The clock operates on a 24-hour cycle.

3.2 Daily Programming

The mechanical clock features small segments around its circumference. These segments can be pushed in or pulled out to define the Comfort or Economy periods throughout the day. Typically, pushed-in segments correspond to the Economy setting, and pulled-out segments correspond to the Comfort setting.

• Comfort Setting: Use the larger dial to set your desired Comfort temperature.
• Economy Setting: Use the smaller dial to set your desired Economy temperature.

3.3 Mode Selection

Use the mode selector switch to choose between the following operational modes:

• AUTO (Programmed Mode): The thermostat operates according to the daily program set on the mechanical clock, switching between Comfort and Economy temperatures.
• Heating Mode (Sun icon): Maintains the Comfort temperature continuously.
• Cooling Mode (Snowflake icon): Maintains the Comfort temperature continuously (if connected to an AC system).
• Anti-freeze Mode (Frost icon): Maintains a fixed temperature of +5°C to prevent freezing.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

When the batteries are low, the thermostat's performance may be affected. Replace all four 12V batteries simultaneously with new ones. Refer to Section 2.2 for battery type and installation.

4.2 Cleaning

Clean the thermostat's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing and internal components.

5. Troubleshooting

• Thermostat not responding: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure the mode selector is in the desired position.
• Incorrect temperature readings: Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources.
• Heating/Cooling not activating: Verify that the system is powered on and that the thermostat's set temperature is appropriate for activation (e.g., set temperature above ambient for heating, below for cooling). Check wiring connections.
• No indicator light: Please note that this model does not feature a light indicator to show when the heating or cooling system is actively running. This is a design characteristic, not a malfunction.
